Hi all,

Don't really know where to start or what to say.

Have been in the cycle of gambling 13 years now since I was 18, all started with a few harmless 50p reverse forecasts on the dogs.

I have a great family, amazing little boy and although we have our ups and downs my partner bends over backwards for me and our son, also just recently found out we are expecting.

I have a really good job, well paid and although it is stressful I do enjoy it. Have been paid today and foolishly gambled alot of it away. I dont take any enjoyment from gambling any more, i just panic when hit with big Bill's and turn to it to try and win the money back I've just paid out, never works and always leaves me worse off.

It's worth adding I have been on Gamstop for months now and have went to a terrible online casino lot on gamstop, gambled alot on roulette and won a good chunk back, have requested withdrawl but I'm not holding my breath now after hearing the reviews.

I guess the point is that I do not want to be doing this anymore, feel like i cant go to meetings because of my job so hoping this is a way to resist the temptation.

Came clean to my partner about the loss/ chance of withdrawl and she is obviously very upset and angry at me as I have done this what seems like a million times, I just want to stop and get on and enjoy life. Sometimes it's all I can think about and it drains me.

Anyway sorry for the rambling and hello from me.

G

I know how you feel. I'm in the same position ads you the fact is we convince ourselves if we win enough we think we will stop the fact is you never stop. We just continue to gamble till we have nothing left. !!!! The more money we have the more money we have to gamble with

Hello Foolish,

Yes please stop... because let me tell you this... if you don’t, one day you will lose everything!
I’ve put up with husbands gambling for years... been together since we were 17.
He has a good job... but the gambling, lies and deceit have destroyed our marriage. Not to mention the mountains of debt.

His recently even confess about suicidal thoughts because the stress and anxiety of being unable to pay bills and having the family evicted from their home is almost unbearable.

NO one wins... a wife loses a husband who she loves, the kids lose respect for their father and the father has lost himself by being a compulsive gambler.

For the sake of your family.. get help and stop whilst it’s not too late.
All the best ...
