Checking in 15 days, great to see so many top scores and all those are above 100 days shows that maintaining a gamble free life can improve your personal wellbeing. Wish I could be the same, my scores are 6,5,8,7. Although had I refrained from my last bet I would be 80+ days and be 9,9,3,3. Proves the point really, ah well by Christmas I will be 100+ days and hopefully hitting near the 10's. Keep it up everyone.
I would like to restart the challenge as I have failed. Tomorrow will be day 1 for me.
This time I will not fail.
All I have to do is believe.

Triangle 180 days - brilliant! Glad you appreciate the updates etc Mr B will like that 🙂
Every single day is a huge victory! Keep together - you're all doing great! Love Mama B xx
Hi I'm new to all this joined yesterday after 2 months of winning big and losing twice as big! It's got to the stage where I have maxed out a credit card and gone over my overdraft! I have a wife and young daughter who have no idea about the debts (I told her about losing the winnings) that was bad enough but she will leave me if she finds out about the debt! I've not bet since Sunday! Not long I know but hopefully it's a start! Reading throu all these posts is really encouraging and know I can beat it! Just need to get throu these debts quickly!!!
thanks mama B the support is appreciated from you too
As to my scores on the music well its an interesting one.
Sometimes i feel a bit like the odd one out in this challenge. I get gambling thoughts all the time but i know the consequence of acting on them would mean i'd lose so much in my life
so my numbers are 5, 6, 9 and 5
Morning all,
Thought I'd log in to share some news with you, which is why I've been so quiet, but I'm expecting and having a rough time....
I guess this gives me another focus to stay away from the horses, it's hard as the temptation is there feeling all emotional and hormonal at the same time, but I know it's not right and I should steer clear.
Hope you are all staying gamble free, I will check in as much as possible, just need to keep healthy and strong.

isn't that the message then tobeornot that if we are having a rough time to be less quiet?
Well done for coming on

Good evening fellow members,
A warm welcome to our new member CP. A sincere and honest post, well done for posting it here, I feel for you greatly my friend, you are going through a lot at the moment. I have stopped for around 9 months now, after gambling for 25 years. If you want to move forward, you have to draw a line under everything that has happened, and accept who you are.
That money has gone and it isn't coming back. It clearly hurts you a great deal but there is a way forward - accepting who and what you are is key; you are a compulsive gamber, which means that if you win, all you will desire is the same level of eurphoria again, if you lose, you will experience soul-wrenching desperation to win it back. Both scenarios lead to losing and nothing you can ever do will change that - remember it, run it over and over in your mind if you feel tempted to gamble - urges are only ever temporary; learn to occupy your mind with positive, constructive things if you feel vulnerable. CP, things seem pretty bad at the moment, but imagine your life in five or ten years if you carry on; money doesn't really matter at the end of the day.
Your wife may respect you more if you come completely clean with her and tell her the true extent of your gambling problem and the debts you have. It has worked for me and may work for you. I have handed over the control of our finances to my wife to remove one of the temptations of having ready money to give to the gambling industry.
Remain strong my friend and I hope everything works out ok.
Bornagain(Phil), I hope that your week is going ok and you are feeling more positive. You can do this.
ToBeOrNot, Great effort so far and try to remain strong through this difficult patch in your recovery.
Mama B, Keep up your continued support and guidance for the forum members. I personally benefit from your sound advice. Thank you.
And finally, Mr B, Great forum summery my friend (as always) as you have been digging very deep into your reserve locker recently but have come out the other end fighting stronger than ever. Great effort and may it long continue.
Mike
Happydays (Mike) thanks for your kind words and great support and encouragement to others like Cp.
Cp - welcome to the forum and I hope you will find the support that you need to be able to overcome your gambling and turn your life around. Many people have been exactly where you are and they have so much to offer in the way of coping strategies and ways to overcome. If you would like to join this challenge then please read the first page and if you feel able to commit to your own recovery & to supporting others on the challenge then please post again before Saturday midnight, stating your number of gamble free days and Mr B will add you to the tremendous troop of soldiers marching to victory 🙂 I really hope that this can be the beginning of a new and better life for you. Love Mama B xx

Hi all, checking in for this week 112 days clean.
7 7 2 4.
Thanks D.
Can't remember if I said 'checking in' in my last post, so 'checking in' again.
A joke to cheer us all up (Scotland and Wales team supporters are allowed to laugh too...)
"In view of the poor England performance in the World Cup, the FA are offering fans free entrance to Wembley for a friendly between England and Iceland.
If England do well further matches will be arranged against Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi."
Checking in on day eight. Thank you for allowing me to join this challenge. My first minor milestone was to reach a week so hopefully my meeting that shows you I am serious about abstaining.
Reading the rules of your volume ratings, I think gambling plays pretty strongly still but getting life's music up higher to compensate. Numbers 9,8,7,2 for me.
Affected by gambling?
