Dot - It was nice to talk to you on chatroom last night and hope to see you there again tonight ?,This challenge has been a big help for me personally, Reading posts from people who are on 100+ days tells me it is possible to tame this beast that is within us all!,I'll reiterate what i said to you last night...... Take it 1 day at a time and if you dont think you can talk to your GF when she gets back then try writing it down,Sometimes writing things down and getting them out of our heads really helps

Mr B - Emailed my answers to you 🙂

Everyone else - Well done on staying gamble free however far along you are!

hi all

I just wanted to say a huge congrats to Mr B on 150 days! What a great achievement! You really have been a rock on this forum for so many including myself- well done I am very proud to be part of this with you.

Phil- I hope you can get through these bad times- I have to say I was in the same spot as you not so long ago and you all got me through it. Its not easy when you feel its like hanging over you but it does pass.

I have to admit I have not been on here as much as I should be and its purely for selfish reasons. I found that I have been thinking about gambling a lot less and so I dont think to come on here every day like I used to. This is unfair as I should be supporting my fellow challengers and also I need to make sure that I dont forget why I came on here in the first place.

I will make more effort to update daily when I can.

Well done to everyone and thanks Mr B for the update - its really amazing how well we are all doing as a (huge) group!

Linda

Time it was great to chat to you last night, thank you. I was really in a state last night, crying at the keyboard, think it's the first time I've really accepted all the emotions I'm feeling instead of ignoring them.

Feel a lot better today - know what I need to do.

Checked my statements online and today is day 10 gamble free for me.

Won't be on tonight as I'm out , and possibly sporadically for the next few days but certainly next week.

Well done everyone in here.

Firstly, a very very well done to Mr B, 150 days is a top achievement, we all know how hard that is too achieve, so you deserve a large large one of whatever your tipple is !. I think many of us reading and posting on this thread are very much aware that without Mr.B starting this challenge and his regular positive posts we would have probably failed by now in our attempt to overcome gambling. so I for one want to say a big thank-you for this particular thread. Happy days ahead.

Hi all,

Have had a great week so far enjoying the normal life, where gambling plays no part. The part I definately do not miss is the amount of stress, anxiety and worry in my life due to gambling. My head is so much clearer...

Thought I would pospone check in until today, as I hit my latest milestone of 150 days today, 5 months!! 🙂

The people in this challenge have had a huge hand in me achieving this, so thanks to you all!

Scambling

Well hello everyone!!

So it's 150 days free.........and I have to admit I'm a bit overwhelmed and slightly embarrassed by all the amazing comments!! Don't get me wrong, they are all really appreciated, but for a guy from the West of Scotland where compliments and praise are rarely given or received, it's a bit alien to me!!

Thanks Time4Reform for the answers to the spotlight questions - they are superb!! I think it's just as important to bring to life the early stages of recovery as it is to spotlight the journeys of the guys who are slightly further along the long road!! The other Spotlight this week will be on someone who I know that a lot of you will follow and read posts from - it's going to be on duncanmac, or duncs as we know him. There are definite similarities between the two sets of answers..........and without giving too much away.........with a link back to my milestone today.......one of duncs messages is around it not mattering whether you're on day 1 or day 1000......we are all equals as compulsive gamblers. There's another phrase that I think really captures the precarious and fragile nature of recovery and it's one that's stuck with me for the last 150 days.......and it refers in a way to the counting of days and what it actually means.......

"the person who has stopped the longest is the person who got up first this morning"..........

And this is the way I've faced my recovery........we are all one day away from being on day 1..........so with 150 days clean behind me, I am still fighting today like I'm on day 1. I guess the big big difference for me is that my life music is drowning out the volume of the gambling music now.

We've got two more members celebrating 150 days in 2 days time..........I'm just as excited about that as I was about today!! Hardtimes is one of them.......and a message to you Linda.......this is your recovery journey and you have responsibility to no-one other than yourself........so if you believe it helps you to help others and spend more time on here then that's your call........if a once a week post to check in is what YOU need then that is what you do. First and foremost this thread is designed as a support to individuals......the goal harmony we have as a group is simply a bonus.

Dot83 - powerful post earlier from our newest team member. It's tough soldier and sounds that you and T4R had a good chat last night.........and that it's helped! You'll be formally added to the group on Sunday, but thanks for reposting and welcome to the group!!

Thanks to everyone in this group for the effort you all put in - we have committed to our own recovery - we have committed to team - and we are succeeding.

Have a great night everyone.......and c'mon Villa 🙂

Mr Brightside

PS Scambling - congrats again on the 150 days......yesterday!!! Lol!!!

Hi all

There seems to be lots of people celebrating certain achievements this week and that is just an amazing thing- this shows the power of what this site does..

The incredible comradeship within these pages is a testament to human fellowship

We are all celebrating different measurements wether it's a day, a week, a month or over 100 days etc

Long may the personal celebrations continue

Long may the comradeship continue

Long may we continue to be positive and fight this horrible addiction

Keep strong and focused

THANK YOU to the people who help keep this wheel rolling- you know who you are.. You are true inspirations of the highest level

Have a good week and feel good for yet another day

Glads dad
