Hello - just to say I just got in from the pub. Little urge so good to just log on and read about other people. Thank you for your kind comments Mr. B. I am all good and off to bed to read my book.
Hello everybody,
Checking back in to the challenge after unfortunately missing check in last week due to my sheer laziness so I apologise to Mr B but so everybody knows I am still with you on this journey and am today 84 days free of gambling and am so proud to be able to tell people ! I had read back through some of the earlier posts and noticed somebody had asked for more an insight into what helped me the most to face my problem and it seems to be a trend with everybody but it was simply telling someone and speaking to someone about the issues and from there I was able to work on my addiction, by deleting and blocking all betting sites and casinos and bookies etc. and not having access to my bank accounts, I have a great family who are very loving and supportive as I'm sure everybody on here does and they are the reason I want to fight to hard to get rid of this ! Think of people you love in tough times and think about the impact on what you are doing and just say it's not worth it because we are all better thank the bookies ! "We can't win, because we can't stop". So yeh that's what I find helpful and being proud of what you have achieved no matter how great or small! On another note I am currently speaking to one of my managers at work in an attempt to start a "giving up gambling" group in the workplace to transfer the message from our wonderful group to other people who need help ! So hopefully a few new members should be popping up in not to long ! So anyway I don't mean to babble, but I hope this has helped 🙂
I am Batman and I am 84 days free of gambling and I am so so proud of myself and every single other person who wants to have a gamble free life
Goodnight, hope everyone has a good week 🙂
Hey everyone just checking in for the week on day 56 gamble free .
It's late but can't sleep just had long Skype chat with my friend who haven't seen in nearly a year and had told me she coming home end of next month :). Can't wait to see her she was 1 of the people who urged me to stop gambling the last time around as she was only 1 who knew how bad a situation I was in. Can't wait till she sees how far I've come and a lot of it down to yous on this challenge.
Before when I couldn't sleep I'd log on to 1 the bookies websites and bet on the racing in America and Australia but now I log on here and catch up on the posts from previous day and it helps keep me focused on the task at hand which is another day gamble free
Hi all,

Evening everyone!
Just a quick check in for me tonight and an update of the front page!
Hope everyone has had a good day so far!!
Great to have you back Batman!! I feel safer with you with us than fighting a lone battle!!
Just over 48 hours to check in deadline.......how fast are these weeks going at the moment??
Mr B
hi all...63 days tomorrow...almost blipped this morning, love the TPC golf tournament and wanted to play as a one-off..managed to stop myself by reviewing my available cash and realising there were other pressing matters...keep up the great work guys!
Evening everyone,
A very unusually quiet Friday on the forum, but still over 24 hours for last minute soldiers to return to base safely.
The main reason for posting tonight though is to send a message to Ringerbell.......
The importance of your charity event really hit home to me today Ringer following the news of wee Oscar Knox. It just made the cause of your work even more real and please be assured that I will be doing everything I can to influence some support over there. Best of luck.
There is another key reason for posting and that is to send massive congratulations to Hardtimes and Babybluesky on hitting the monster milestone of 150 days!!! You girls rock!! Also a great big well done to Delboygolf who breaks through the half century today! Great way to start the weekend for you guys and for the group - raising a glass for the 3 of you tonight!!
Have a good weekend all!!
Mr Brightside
Checking in!!
Gamble free and happy.
I am now able to fully concentrate on my recovery knowing that all avenues for my gambling have been blocked by my self exclusions.
I am now finally smiling.
Keep strong everyone
LG x
Well done everyone on reaching the milestones today
Thanks for the quick comment Mr Brightside. Have had a tough day today but still gamble free. The news of lil oscar really got me thinking today, I've got very attached to the charity I'm fundraising for and that family and more determined now than ever to help them beat this
Hi all, just checking in, day 12 for me (if I stay abstinent until midnight). Had interview at problem gambling clinic this week hope to start group CBT in a few weeks. Have reported my 2 debit cards lost as a precaution, no valid cards = no ability to gamble online (cannot deposit!). Have done a lot of housework this week, done yoga, been to the gym. Body aches but feeling fitter! I think life is much better without the stress & ups & downs of gambling. More stable. Will keep myself busy this weekend as find weekends tough, midweek is OK. Lots more spring cleaning to do! + gym etc. tc
Thank for the kind words Mr B and you are correct it was 50 yesterday and not 49 as i thought(it gets better) so day 51 as i post this.
Have a great weekend.
Steve
