It’s scary to see the impact of gambling since I realised I had an issue 5 years ago. I have tried numerous times to stop without success.
Where I have gambled for over a decade, it’s constantly on my head e.g. I notice gambling adds, familiar sounds (roulette ball), sound of slot reels which is so difficult to switch off.Â
What I think about now is ‘Where to start?’. No doubt stopping gambling is the answer but how do we delete those gambling thoughts? Which debt do I tackle first?Â
I tend to stop gambling for a short period (few weeks or months), think I’m on the road to recovery and then I relapse which makes the whole journey seem impossible. I think about my gambling history and how it’s a vicious cycle.Â
Any tips from those who’ve felt similar to me would be greatly appreciated.Â

Hi
I'm not going to profess to know anything at all about giving up as it's only three days. My opinion and what I have decided to do is to go full hog and do everything fully. So in terms of tackling debts it might be an idea to talk to Stepchange and find a solution
Affected by gambling?
