It was hard for me to fill in the time after I stopped gambling. I used to work 40 -60 hours a week, and then gamble 40 plus hours a week. What an idiot! It was not uncommon for me to spend my days off in a gambling venue, up to 12 hours at a time. My longest gambling run, sitting behind poker machines (fruit machines) was 24 hours!
Find a hobby that you really like doing. For me, I read a lot, garden, visit these forums, sometimes I ride a bike, and I'm currently painting the house. This is the way I fill in the void time. If I am bored, I become restless, and when I am restless the natural progression is thinking about having a punt,(for me anyway).
You will continue to find things that entertain you, and that don't cost an arm and a leg. Keep up the good work. Your efforts now will save you from a lot of misery in the long run.
