Hi Stephen, I know you feel really low at this moment because you have gambled but please call the samaritans , you don't even have to give your name, tomorrow is another day where you can start again and try to beat this with the help and support on here. Your not worthless it's just how the gambling has made you feel with the loss of money. You know you can do this because you have done it before and as the saying goes, if at first you don't succeed then try try again. LIfe is so precious, there are people out there terminally I'll who have no choice, you do so please talk to us and let us support you. xx

Stephen,
Judging by the number of people you have commenting on your posts you should realise we do give a ****.
Don't you see that there are people on this site who have been where you are now? They have felt like you. They have suffered like you but more importantly they have survived and are now mentally in such a better place.
It can be done Stephen. No matter how low or how desperate you feel now, it can be done but only you can do it.
Please don't give up. You have worked too hard, you can make such a better future for yourself.
As the Al's in the above posts said get some help, go to hospital or ring samaritans - You ARE worth it and you're worth a whole lot more besides. We wouldn't say it if we didn't believe it.
Take care of yourself. Keep posting x

Must have wrote something on my facebbok last night. the garda came to the house in the middle of the night to check if i had killed myself. Wish i had. Drinking cans in the bookies and giving a few euro to the homeless lads in the bookies to get some tablets of them. Dont know how i got home. I dont know why i dont kill myself. Expecting someone to do that for lme like i was expecting people to stop me gambling.

bookies knew i had serious money on me last night. they didnt care i was drinking cans and openly taking tablets.. They knew i would be gone as soon as it all went.

And even though th garda came to the house last nigt my mam wont ask if im alright she will just be looking for her rent. Well theres nothing to give her.

f***k gambling and f***k this site. They were th eones trying to get me to go on to another site. Well dont worry im gone.

whether i kill myself or not i wil eventully die and thats the only comfort i have

We're really sorry you're feeling so low at the moment. Everyone who's posted to you has given you very sound advice. You are worth it and people do care about you. But you have to start realising that you are worth it, and start caring about yourself too.

You seem to feel that we want you to stop using this site. We do want you to keep using this site for support but we are worried that you don't seem to be accessing proper support where you live. We know you are aware of Dunlewey addiction services. It also sounds like you need support for your suicidal feelings. There's an agency called Pieta who offer a freephone helpline and 1:1 counselling through a network of local centres. Their support is completely free. We hope you give them a call and get the support you need to be safe, and to start caring about yourself again. http://www.pieta.ie/ive-been-feeling-suicidal.

You could also try contacting Aware, who offer a Support Line and support groups for people experiencing depression. https://www.aware.ie/help/support/support-line-information/

A lot of people care about you at GamCare, but we can't make you get the support you need. Please, take this step for yourself and contact a local agency who can help you with your suicidal feelings and your self-destructive behaviour.

Look after yourself Stephen,

Forum Admin.

Morning Stephen , You know when most of us turned up here we were all full of pity for ourselves , " Look at me " " How unluck I've Been " " Life's just s***e " and I was no different but it can alway's change Stephen but only if you want it to my friend .

The truth is that 99% of your problems are all gambling related , so what's the obvious answer then ? , until you make the effort that's needed then everythings going to carry on the way it alway's has you blowing your wages every month , then moaning about life and the way you hate things so much , which really is just you being angry about gambling again .

Lots of people care about you Stephen , they spend a lot if time unselfishly talking to you and supporting you unconditionally , just as theyv'e alawys done and which once again ws proved by people on here last night .

I'm sorry to sound harsh but If you'r going to do your worst then there's nothing that any of us can do Stephen , we can talk to you and support you until were blue in the face but it means nothing unless your prepared to put some effort and work into getting yourself out of this mess " Nothing changes if nothing changes " Stephen and you going through all this for what ? , for money and that's all it boils down to really , a couple of months of being gamble free and you'd be a much happier person and your finances would be ok again .

As I said if you want to change , then go ahead were all here for you but if not then I can't say much more really Stephen , Sorry !

I'm always about if you do want a chinwag but I'll leave that decision to you my friend and wish you well ! .

Alan

I gave up my bank detail sand they were given back to me.

And i said many times i just wanted to vent on this. The gambling wont got better. The head and mind are gone. I wanted to give up my bank details to give my mind a break but people made sure that wasnt an option. So f**k this. Delete the page , delete the profile.

The gambling can get better Stephen but vent away if it helps , as for the bank details even if you'd not had them you'd have found another way around it , which brings it back around to you taking back control and taking steps to stop it happening again .

It's your choice if you delete you page and walk away obviously , I hope you don't because the gambling problem won't go away as easy as that mate and here your at least among people who understand and empathise with you ?

Drinking-other addictions-gambling - that is the vicious circle and doing any one of these things will lead you on to wanting to do the other two. I can see the state you are in and I have already watched all of this personally and know you have really hit rock bottom. If you read your former posts there are some really positive vibes where you have achieved some form of recovery so there is still hope. I myself suffer from long-term illnesses and time is maybe so short and precious for me and when I hear a young person like you wanting to end your life it breaks my heart because every minute of life counts to me and you should be living your life to the full. You are young, you have a job, capable of passing exams and a bright future and unless you get some professional help for your addictions and take some control of your life now I fear you are wasting your life away. Just think if going into that bookies has made your life better or worse? has taking the alcohol, etc. made your life better or worse? all you get from these things is a short-term high but the long term ends up so life threatening. It is a real shame that you want to leave here and I would suggest just leaving your page on as a safety net and if you ever want to talk. No-one is judging you on here - they just want to see you get better and make sure you are safe. You are doing the right thing by still talking on here. I would urge you to make an appointment with your gp asap to talk about all these problems and get local help and urge you to actually telephone the helpline on here to talk to someone as well. Start a project to work on by writing down a recovery plan and counting days you have not gambled. If you are going to have a drink just stick to a pint. Self exclude yourself from the bookies - Gamcare will help you. Set yourself a budget for the month and just stick to necessities, as we were doing a few months ago. Keep going to the gym. Maybe try to help some of the newbies who are coming on here - in a nutshell try to keep yourself busy. Easier said than done at the moment as you are probably exhausted but please try. Keep in touch with us all. Take care Stephen.

That's the thing though Stephen " People really do give a f**k " as the last post and many many others will testify to , I think it's you that doesn't care anymore or maybe so you think ? , you probably do really care and don't want to chuck your young life away but it's a hard struggle Stephen and nothing that's worth having comes easy , sometimes you have to find that bit of extra strenght and push and push some more until you start getting to where you want to be !.

Of course we care stephen that's why we are still here posting and trying to stop gambling, we all came here for the same thing, to get help for our addiction. I see myself at times in your posts as i am sure a lot of others do so we know what you are going through, you also have a CG's parent on here taking the time to post and look out for you and worry about you, probably because they see their child in your posts sometimes also. We all want to stop, we all want to help and we all do better for it if we stay on here and commit. Ok it may not be going great now but we have all been there, if you keep talking on here and stay off the gambling this weekend then you might feel a little more positive come Monday, surely can't feel any worse than you do right now. You might not know it yet but we are connected on here through our wish for a more peaceful life, when you fall we fall with you but the only thing that keeps us going is the fact that inside we know our lives will be so much better if we quit and stay quitted. We know your life would be so much better without gambling, we know that because our lives are so much better without gambling, i think you know your life will be so much better also which is what might be making you a bit angry with the fact you feel you cannot stop. But you can stop you see, you just haven't found your focus to stop yet but you don't have to stop trying. Keep going through the motions for now till your head clears, one foot in front of the other is all you need do for now and keep posting if you can please.

Im connected to no one. Unless you have told someone "i have a gambling problem, can you mind my bank card and passport" and for them to give it back a week later then you cant relate to me

So why not speak with the bank then Stephen and ask them to take the card back and come to another arrangement for withdrawing money ? , there's always a way Stephen , just as there is for you to find a way to gamble if that's what you want but the card , money gambling are in your hands and nobody else's my friend , if you want a solution without doing anything stupid then you will find one my friend .
