Got paid on friday. This is my 4th pay since I stopped gambling. I'm so grateful to my girlfriend that she's looking after our finances. Our holiday in less than a week wouldn't have been possible without all these necessary measures in place. Couple of more shifts left then it's holiday time. can't wait! 119 days GF.

Going to Malta tomorrow for 8 days. 4 months ago I could have only dreamt of a holiday. Commitment, determination, resilience, team work and no shortcuts just hard work have made it possible. Arrived safe and sound in Malta yesterday. We are staying in Gozo, the sister island of Malta. Didn't have a good start to our holiday thanks to the car hire people at the airport. We clearly booked 2 drivers and paid online but the woman at the counter refused to accept second driver booking confirmation saying second driver can be booked at the counter only and of coure we would have to pay again. She showed no interest to the email showing booking confirmation and blaming the website we booked with. Anyway we stood our ground and started arguing with her demanding to see her boss. She gave up in the end and added a second driver without any further cost as we booked.
Malta's roads and drivers... jesus!! I think that's a story for another day. I'm enjoying the scenic drive somehow lol.
We went to Ramla beach for a swim in the afternoon and Xlendi bay for dinner which is right across the island but only about 5 miles away so it sums up how tiny the island is. We are loving our stay in this character house in Gozo. Heading to the main island of Malta tomorrow to explore cities like Valletta, Sliema, St. Julian's etc.

Evening, it's been a while since I wrote here. So, back to the reality after a fantastic holiday in Malta. I must say that we both had an amazing time there.
Went on a hop on hop off bus tour of both north and south Malta discovering beautiful villages and coastline. Did a half day tour of Gozo on a quad bike. However, the favourite one was trip to the Blue Lagoon on a supreme power boat from Sliema. It was one hell of a ride! Those beautiful caves in comino island before we arrived in the gorgeous blue lagoon where the water is so crystal clear ahh just amazing.
Anyway, back at work now working nights this week zzz... I hope everyone has had a great weekend and having a great week too. Taking one day at a time. 135 days GF.

I forgot to mention that I read a book called Here and Gone by Stuart Neville while I was on holiday. I'm not a big fan of reading books but I must say that I enjoyed reading it and I might start reading more to keep my mind occupied. Taking one day at a time. 136 days GF.

Had a catch up with my parents and other family members today.
When I went to work on friday I saw a couple of world cup score predictions sheets done by my colleagues. I was thinking to myself so glad I'm not taking part in it and I don't feel no regrets. I am not gonna give myself even a slightest chance that could possibly trigger my devastating gambling habit. I am gonna enjoy the world cup as a big event that happens every 4 years without any money involved. It's turning out to be a good tournament with some cracking goals already and what a game it was between Portugal and Spain!!

Missus made a lovely breakfast in the morning then we headed to the park to play basketball for an hour or so. After we came home I did some cleaning and laundry. In the evening we had a lovely meal and watched a bit of telly. It's been a good day. Both mind and body were busy. Good for a recovering gambling addict like myself.
