A New Beginning

Hi, I have just posted my first comment today on the forum. I have been reading all your comments since day 1, you have inspired me to make a post everyday even if it's something little because end of the day those little comments is a reminder to what's important in your life. It's very easy to switch that off while you're gambling. I hope I'll be able to fight these urges and stop gambling. Well done for your commitments

Thank you Babygirl. Yes, even posting as little as just "I didn't gamble today" or " x number GF" does the trick for me. My only regret is that I didn't find this forum sooner. Anyway, I'm glad I'm on it now and I'm definitely here to stay 🙂 Taking one day at a time. 102 days GF.

I was asked if I'm interested in the world cup sweepstake at work and I kindly said no. Yes, it is all fun and games for normal people but I'm a compulsive gambler and I can not and must not take part in such activities that can trigger my addiction. Prevention is better than cure. 103 days GF.

The day has gone really quick today. Had a brunch in the morning then sat down with the girlfriend planning our holiday next month (exciting times). After that cut the grass just before it started pouring down so got a bit lucky there. Then, carried on cleaning the house followed by laundry and watched the F1 qualifying highlights on channel 4. Get in there Leiws P1! Now the dinner is all done and time to put our feet up and enjoy the Eurovision song contest. 104 days GF.

Went for shopping today with the girlfriend. Going on holiday soon so thought might as well buy some stuff we need now rather than rush last minute.

Later in the afternoon we went to park to play basketball. So, in overall it's been a good day filled with some retail therapy and fun workout. Taking one day at a time. 105 days GF.

Walked dogs in the morning followed by the usual chores. Then, went to the dentist around midday. He said my teeth are not too bad for someone who hasn't been to the dentist for years. Got a follow up appointment next week for some fillings. Went to bed for a couple of hours nap after I came home because I'm on nights this week. No urges to gamble or whatsoever. So far so good. 106 days GF.

Let's rock the moor in Cookham was amazing yesterday. Gorgeous weather, good food, great line up, great music and fantastic atmosphere. ABC and Billy Ocean were amazing.

Today was more kind of rest day. Went to the park in the morning to play basketball followed by a little workout. Then, we just stayed in had a netflix and chill day.

Went to see the dentist today to get my teeth fillings done. Girlfriend trusted me with the money and I went on my own. So glad I went to the dentist with no detour and came straight back home. I have realised the value of money and most importantly time. I have also understood that there is life after gambling and it's actually better than the one that was isolated by gambling. I did not gamble today and I have no urges to gamble. 113 days GF.
