Thanks Signalman. It feels nice to hear that I can be an inspiration to someone especially that my life was a right mess not long ago. Just proves that with a right attitude, mentality and approach we can always turn it around. We must never give up. Still a long way to go so we shall never get complacent. Last night tonight and it's the bloody weekend where's my beer haha. 389 days GF.

I read your diary most days as the simplicity and honesty of the life you now live is like a repeated mantra to me:

"Been to the gym, studied, spent time with the missus and took the dog for a walk"

Like you, my life was a big mess before. Like you, I don't want my life to go back to how it was before... Unlike you I seem to lack the energy and determination to grab this opportunity with both hands and enjoy the purity that life offers...

You write powerful stuff without even trying to. One day I hope like you I can just get on and be proud of my achievements ie recognising addiction is powerless in the face of humility and serenity.

I feel a bit stuck currently, at a crossroads in my life where a lot of reassessment is taking place. I think part of the reason I got into my mess in the first place was because I was putting too much pressure on myself. So your diary is most therapeutic to me Pras as it helps guide me towards 'letting go' rather than 'adding' and 'holding onto' things, thoughts, people and places that are hindering me rather than helping me :o)

Hope that makes some sort of sense to you! Anyway keep it up bro

Hey Signalman, I tell you that you have some way with words and I truly believe that you should consider writing a book if you haven't thought of it yet.
About lacking energy I feel you because there are days where I'm just happy to go to my dead end job that pays the bills and literally do nothing outside work. No ambitions just be content that your not gambling anymore. Fortunately I have my girlfriend who is the driving force behind me constantly checking upon me especially when it comes to studying so I'd say it's a teamwork and I'm very grateful for her. Gym provides me with a platform to push to the limits and it helps me boost my self confidence. Gambling has made my life way too complicated in the past hence I want to simplify it as much as I can going forward. At the moment it's all about relationship, work, chores, dogs, studies and gym. My life revolves around these things. It's simple yet effective. It helped me become a normal person.

I'm pleased to hear that you're receiving therapy from my diary and I'm sorry to hear that you're stuck at crossroads in life. You've come a long way my friend and I'm confident you'll keep making right decisions for yourself and your family. Don't be too hard on yourself bro just take it easy. When you know the time is right to embark on a new journey I'm sure you'll hit that pedal to the medal. Glory awaits you my friend long gone are those dark days of gambling. Chin up and be proud of yourself man you're doing great. Take care.

Dear Pras

Congratulations on being 400 GF days so far, this is a wonderful achievement. A quick glance through your diary tells a story of how you have been able to continue your journey forward, increasing in self awareness and mental resilience and I am sure that this is inspiring to many of our other forum users. Thanks also for the support you give them. It sounds as if you continue to work hard on focusing on study, the gym and so on, so again, well done! I hope you recover from your cold very quickly!

Warm regards

Leigh

Thank your for your kind words admin I appreciate that.

Took one of our dogs to a neurologist today after a referral from the vet and he said she doesn't need a surgery so that was a huge relief. He said hopefully she will get better with the medication in a couple of weeks. Spent rest of the day just resting as the cold is still there although I'm feeling better. No gambling urges just want all humans and animals in this house to recover soon. Taking one day at a time. 402 days GF.

So sad to hear about the plane crash in Ethiopia today. So many people lost their lives. Just shows how short life can be. We only get one life what's the point in wasting it gambling. I'm very grateful to have been given a second chance to turn it around. Tonight I shall pray for those who lost their lives in such a devastating manner. May your soul Rest In Peace.
