Duncs

Firstly I'm so sorry to hear of your back troubles I really hope the pain leaves you ASAP

Secondly I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your reply to my post. Having read your thread start to finish I knew your experience and wealth of knowledge would help with above all else honesty.

There was a specific line you wrote which made the penny drop for me. It's made me see what I have been thinking wasn't just me being paranoid again. Whilst living together apparently I was paranoid alot!

My eyes are now wide open and for that I thank you

X shelly

Ps Duncs ...I hope my post on Ades diary wasn't a tipping point..Wasnt suggesting at all folks took xtc just looking at mood balancing drugs with a dopamine "like "effect is all.

Knowledge of pharma drugs is a big part of my job as is medicine so I have an interest in the subject and have for over 25 yrs as I was put on a cocktail in my 20s that aggrivated rather than helped my chronic panic and anxiety...am not anti pharma btw..I'd be straight down the docs if I was really ill.

Anyhooo...just thought I'd clear that up xx

Duncs,

Sorry to hear you've been going through a bad spell mate - sounds like a rough ride over the past few days.

I'll be honest, it feels slightly disconcerting to see you 'wobble' (even if it's not gambling-related), such is your position of authority and stability within these forums. It only goes to show that even the toughest/strongest amongst us face difficulties of their own.

Anyway, I wish you well mate, and wanted to say thanks again for the support you offer to me everyone else on these pages. Through abstinence, my resolve to put gambling to bed for good feels as strong as it's ever been. Like I said on my diary, despite other issues escalating elsewhere in my life, abstinence is becoming the rock upon which I steady myself. That's thanks in no small part to the guidance and support given by people like you.

Cheers

Hey Duncs ....whoops ..got the wrong end of the stick my friend...have deleted now but no worries was thinking aloud there after reading Ades post which was inspiring....

Sometimes in haste I don't stop to think how the posts I write may be read so I just figured it may have been about the xtc thing ....but anyway seems not in this case and I'm glad it's not me that caused you to feel so angry...

I can see it now ....and united we stand ...100pc honesty is where it's at as that's the only way we can all get better ...

I'm a passionate gal like you are a passionate guy ...I hope you feel better soon Duncs pain wise as any physical pain is horrendous...unconditional as always Mr M ...all I know is if I'm in pain my tolerance threshold is way way down so the very fact you come on here every day and give out your recovery despite huge pain is a testament to you soldier!!!

Knowing that your family will be rallying now and soon you will be out of pain and up and about ..that's my wish anyway ..,blummin frying pans eh.?

Keep posting Duncs .....xxxx hugs and all good things to you today xxx

Duncs,

I dont really know you at all that well, as relatively new on here, but I have read so many words of wisdom from yourself which have helped me on my short journey so far. I wish you a speedy recovery, and hope that all returns to a sense of normality in the near future.

Sorry to hear the drugs gave you a bad episode Duncs. It sounded like a horrible experience, just goes to show how powerful they are. You've certainly had it rough these past few weeks and I can only hope things pick up for you soon. Just remember you're a fighter and you can, as you've proven, overcome anything.

Take care

Steve

Morning duncs

I hope you are feeling more yourself and on the mend.

Your final line there made me laugh so hard as I too had a mishap misreading labels with medication.

Whilst suffering the most blinding migraine I staggered to the kitchen and reached up on the the top of the cupboard and saw a familiar silver packet ( migraine tablets),

I took 2 and went for a lay down and wait for the tablets to kick in.

2 hours passed and still my migraine sat there above my eyes but I had a little more vision. I returned to the packet hoping I could take some more. Imagine my horror when the silver packet from which I had taken the tablets were dog worming tablets!!!!

Quick call to the med centre, a nurse laughing uncontrollably but thankfully I was ok. Just told I will have lovely glossy hair 🙂

Just thought I'd share a little bit of my senility
