Oh Duncs,

Thanks so much for your post

I feel very humbled with the support i recieve on here and know without it i would have had the strength to get through this weekend as well as the last few months so THANK YOU sooooo much

As you know i need to put down what's happening so it can continue to help when at times it seems so hard.

Your journey and how you have turned your life around has inspired me on many occasions

I wish you sooo much happiness with Sarah and the kids and just know you will continue getting stronger and stronger

Keep Strong Duncs

Lucy

21weeks gamble free. Coming of age 21(i wish lol) today marks for me another step forward I am today moving into my place of work for a week to become the person in charge. This is something 21 weeks ago i simply could not have done, as a chef i look after my food stock and am in charge of my brigade who are all much younger than I. I am going to approach the rest of the building as i do life, with a measured calculated approach, using the right person for each job. My eldest is moving in with me from tomorrow to keep me company and my beautiful wife will bring the hound my way each day for exercise and a cuddle lol. She i hope will also spend the weekend. So in doing this i will also earn a bonus which i plan to use to purchase a new laptop as the one i had is no longer with us its motherboard broke!whatever one of those is, i did try to give it a talking to! So today i feel i come of age and i am up and raring to go, i am sure the dog will soon in my absense move in to the bed and try to stake a claim lol!. I thank again all of you my ever growing gamcare family as you help has got me here a place were my roots are begining to spread and the will bring blossom which i will nurse into fruit. So here is to one day at a time, just for today NO BET. duncs stepping forward never back.

Good morning,

Can hear all those keys jingling, all the way along the south coast.

Bet (opppppssssss) you never in your biggest dreams thought 21 weeks ago that you would be the king of the castle (all be it for a week) .

It just goes to show what hard work, honesty ,and a steely determination can achieve.

Have a good week Duncs , do not cave in to the staffs demands for a pay rise lol.

I know you attribute how far you have come on your familyand hovis (god bless ummm), your boss and the people you work with , this site and GA, but at some point take just a moment to pat yourself on the back cause you deserve just as much recognition , be proud my friend , be very very proud.

Push on to 26 weeks - 6 months.

I think we all know it's not meant to be easy.

Hi Duncs

Inspirational read regarding the guy with the scratchcards. When I read things like this I actually feel the tenseness as I used to when I started buying them. It comes back in a flash but I get a great sense of relief when I realise it is in my mind. Madness this CG business, no more though ,ODAAT

Take care

Good morning Dunc

....and a serenade of .."he's got the key of the door (literally)....21 weeks stepping forward and more".

(toasting with with a cornetto in hand.)

Think its a great idea to keep your home close with you whilst your in house this week.. with your son by your side and Sarah and Hovis coming to see you...

I truly believe that your consistency in recovery is that you all work together as a family ...I think this is a big key and often say this on supporters side with your family as an example in my mind...

Often I wear two hats....one for identification as many on supporters need to know initially they are not going mad so I type the xtremes I have felt and done to reassure...but I love to hear people come forward with success stories and there is a thread I started on the other channel a few weeks ago to hear those posts like yours....

Supporters need to know that it can be turned around and stories like yours gives hope as by the time many of us get on here it is in the final death throws and often to gain support as the decision to leave has been made already.

As i'm so involved in the diaries i know that lives can be turned around even though it was beyond repair for me... and your story along shines out as one of those that has really embraced and involved your whole family in recovery..

I used to see similar in AA ....as recovery in isolation even with family around can still be a very lonely place.

I see that on here too and understand it and its not because families are bad its just hard work trying to get people you live with to understand all the time when they don't..

Any advice or inspiration you can give on here or supporters Duncs (time permitting) is always welcome....people like me (aka...nosey) always love to know the 'how" ...how did you do it? continue to do it etc..

James P is very good with his experience and always encourages other ways of relating and mending before people decide go...more success stories are greatly received.....

It was right for me to go but its not for everyone...the crisis point can be the beginning of something even more special and meaningful as in your case...

keep on keeping on Dunc and save Hovis those yummy meaty scraps....

Sunshine on its way south bound and will have to re learn how to work my pedals after being away...lol

Hugs and wuffs

Rach and soon to be Doo xxx

Late night diary.

All good locked down the building by 11.15 so me and eldest grabbed a quick curry and had a good chat, just two fellas sharing opinions on football, current affairs and life in general. Sarah popped by late afternoon and we got a stroll in(much needed) and to end that weather was short lived Rach!!!! it is up here on the third floor blowing a holigan and the rain is a coming!!!!

Off to recharge the batteries for a big prep day tomorrow well if we can find anything in the newly organised walk in fridge lol lol

Afternoon Diary.

Well if this weather keeps up I expect to see gondolas ahoy!!!!

Did knowone book the summer!!!! Not a fairy to wave the wand and looks like rach left hers abroad!!!LOL

Sad to see bad feelings upon the forum and all I will say is this I guess due to the volume of folk who have diaries here from time to time dissagreements will occur and all I hope is they dont affect anyones recovery as folks that is what we are here for and for sure together we do stand.

Grabbing a break before dinner service, eldest has just returned from a day performing and has by the looks of things found a publisher!!!!

so no sarah or hovis today rain stopped play!!

Tomorrow will I hope be a different story.

And spare a thought for the festival goers heading to a very wet isle of wight I am sure the mud awaits!!!

Duncs stepping forward NO BET never back.
