morning diary. Well what can i say i won again the streak continues! Gamble free each day duncs wins, i layed my soul bare stripped out some more lingering junk when i got home last night, had a massive talk with my sarah to bring us to the same page. Today i am feeling better for it, I know for sarah this journey has been tough at times, difficult to fathom and talks like last nights were only truth is spoken i know we are both in a better place. One common theme for us is we really do get so much out of gamcare. Thank you all for that. I am in the tunnel ready to run on to the pitch for another cup final, going to walk the dog, fish market to pick the weekend specials then a long day at my stove, lets continue the streak there no food complaints. Enjoy the weekend gamcarers:-) we can all just for today make a choice to ensure tomorrow will be better for it. No bet today.duncs stepping forward never back.

You are so right, each day that we spend not gambling is a major WIN for us.

Those horrible, dark, evil days in the gambling world are long behind us.

Here's to a bright future!

Enjoy your weekend.

evening diary. Well what a huge difference a bit of sun makes, brings out a load of punters, then the best in me, i would like to say this to anyone who is trying to arrest this addiction. Life does improve so much, give recovery your all,it will pay you in shovels. You are doing something that will change your life and only for the good. Today we have been really busy at work and it is simply so great to not spend a day with that a feeling of angst about finding a way to have a punt. And then home to walk the dog and all this because today i got up and made my choice. No bet today. Duncs stepping forward never back.

Morning ,

Just a little Sunday lesson , to get the whole choc thing into some prospective.

Chocolate facts

Chocolate is derived from cocoa beans. Bean is a vegetable.

Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS.

Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category.

Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.

To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk,

which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food.

Chocolate-covered raisins, cherries, orange slices & strawberries

all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want. ( let's not forget the nutritional

Value of mixing a veg such as Broccoli and chocolate ,sky high )

Another important thing is to put "eat chocolate" at the top of

your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get

one thing done.

Before I forget, a nice box of chocolates can provide your total

daily intake of calories in one place. Now, isn't that handy?

A special reminder: "Stressed" spelled backward is "desserts"!

He he he

Morning,

I sent you a poem to celebrate I think your 90 days .

It therefore seems fitting to send you one for your 180 although I am a day late (sossssssss)

Somebody said that it couldn't be done,

But, he with a chuckle replied

That "maybe it couldn't" but he would be one

Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.

So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin

On his face. If he worried he hid it.

He started to sing as he tackled the thing

That couldn't be done, as he did it.

Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;

At least no one we know has done it";

But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,

And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.

With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,

Without any doubting or quiddit,

He started to sing as he tackled the thing

That couldn't be done, and he did it.

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,

There are thousands to prophesy failure;

There are thousands to point out to you, one by one,

The dangers that wait to assail you.

But just buckle right in with a bit of a grin,

Just take off your coat and go to it;

Just start to sing as you tackle the thing

That cannot be done, and you'll do it

Well you proved that true for 180 days didnt you !!

Hugs

Shinyxxxx

evening diary. Today marks 6 months gamble free, in that time i have found ga and this forum. Both of which have served me equally well in my recovery. Today i found myself thinking about what was my lowest point during my addiction whilst at it, was it the lies i constantly told sarah and the kids, was it the lies i told my mum to secure more money through loans to feed my addiction. Well with honesty the lowest point was when i pawned my wedding ring to have a punt. Yes my addiction led me down such a path where i devalued my marriage to the point were i traded my wedding ring in for a punt, a point in my life were the answer to everything was revoled around a gamble. Today folks i celebrate 6 months gamble free wearing that symbol of love my wife handed to me with such pride there are no words to describe it!! 6 months to the day i was 24 hrs from losing our house too boot. Today through recovery we still have our house, our marriage and our kids by our side, would i trade it for a punt? Not a chance! Today my glass is half full, money is not the answer, yes with my new job money is there,in the bank and there it will stay until we need it. The gambling googles i used to wear are in the bin and i wont be re-newing the perscription i today have a new focus on life. I am today a non-gambler who has dreams that are obtainable and a zest for life that recovery has given me, it is as i posted this week my second half and i know my team will win as just for today NO BET, and my best friend by my side to enjoy it too, my truly beautiful, kind, ever giving, ever caring wife. Those three words are not even but with all my honest heart "i love you" and thanks for simply being you. And finally as always thanks to you all for sharing with me your recoveries warts and all you will all never know how much an amazing impact you have and will continue to have. Duncs compulsive gambler no bet today. Stepping forward never back.
