Hi Dunc

A gamble free Friday for us both today. 53 weeks and counting for you, well done.

I noticed you are reading a Mr. Rankin book, i've read a few in my time but i prefer H Coben, J Patterson or L Child. Currently reading one by the latter from the library which i joined recently. I have been reading books for years and have always found them a good way to relax my mind but previously I would only turn to them once the gambling tokens were all spent up!!

Have a great day and weekend

Morning diary.

Well got in early and got stuck in to the prep, then i shared a coffee with the boss.

I will share that with you

my boss said after my approaching the attitude of his relative. That in life some folk are bitterly jealous of others, they gauge there life and happiness upon material things, a when someone comes along without a material view , a zest for life they cannot work it out.

They say " how can he be so happy he has nothing!!!!"

Ah said my boss you my friend have something that does not come in a box, you can't buy it!!!

He said enjoy it, He does, our kitchen is a place he finds peace, laughter and effort.

He finished by saying, pay review next week , i know who will be happy that day, so do you.

So today in testament to honesty.

I will bring harmony.

hey Duncs....

I see we have the bad apple in the tub problem...it takes resolve to rise above...found myself slipping into sarcasm but have pulled it round.

Jealously is a funny thing...afflicts people in different ways I guess...I also have been on the receiving end of it bizarrely mainly from men not women as you would expect..! women cheer me on.

It is very true...a person who has lived life fully got the scars and still comes out the other side is often a threat...and the reason folks want to kill your spirit is because under the same conditions they doubt whether they would have the same courage...

As the poem says ..yours is the world my friend and everything in it....you are pretty much untouchable.

No fear

Evening diary

well a good day to be had.

Went to work at six this morning, worked till lunchtime then home till six, food shopping done bagged some bargins and a lot of luxuries a result of Mr Duncs not wasting his hard earnt and some at the bookmakers.

A choice which only i can make.

One that comes through my own better judgement.

Today i bettered my tomorrow.

A hard days graft ahead then home to enjoy a slowly roasted shoulder of lamb.

Life dishes up a big smile.

Why??

Today i batted away the urge to destruct my life., by making a decision.

No bet today

Slow roasted shoulder of lamb ? Now you're talking my language. With you at the helm mate I don't doubt it was anything but delicious. Oh and nice to grab a good few goodies and luxury treats isn't it. As the Cornish like to say, "Proper Job".

I enjoyed reading you're also a fellow cyclist Duncs. How's the Iron Horse (pushbike) coming along then ? All sorted ? I had mine tweaked a little and gradually planning on getting a few more miles in, including some longer rides as the weather improves.

We made the right choices for today. You are an inspiration.

Morning diary.

Well a days rest today, going to take full advantage of it, the roast lamb was amazing, watched a film and motd and slept like a log. Another benefit to be delivered through abstinence. Boy it keeps dishing up nothing but good things.

Today if i asked myself "what did gambling do for me"

Against the catalogue of destructive things it gave, a positive did come.

RECOVERY.

Now that is relentless in delivering pleasure.

The simple things that fill a fellas soul and make this life worth living.

This morning i wandered with the dogs for a good few miles, there happiness with life a joy to behold.

Then i have allowed some Duncs time.

A top up on my resolve. To which i doff my cap to you all.

Thankyou.

Then i will savour some more of my book, walk the hounds some more then cook supper and chill some more.

From all this i can conclude two things, Today i am happy in my own company, i find tranquillity through it, equally i relish the fact i will enjoy the company of my family tonight with equal measure.

Here is to sustained abstinence.

Let the winning streak continue.

hey Duncs

great post from you and a day off after hectic weekend no doubt...

Also had similar thoughts recently along the lines of "what did meeting a gambler do for me".. the positive being I shall never trade my soul in again for love...

Cheers and chin chin to sustained abstinence... its always a win win on this site...and im looking forward as you are to continuing the winning streak..

Always forward ....never back...hounds rule wuff wuff xx
