Ooooh, Morecambe and the beautiful beach must be lovely at this time of year, make sure you take your cozzie, and pack some sarnies to eat on the beach after a refreshing swim! 😉 The darts last week was very good, but I don't blame you for doing overtime, it all helps to rebuild what we've torn down. You're doing really well BA, keep it up and hope you have a successful day's self excluding.

Thanks for the support guys, nice to hear! Been and self excluded from 4 more bookies just to be safe, not tempted but they were the ones I thought of using on my last slip. I've learnt so much and feel much stronger and if the urges come back I feel I will be able to cope better.

Its day 40 today and I wake up having booked my flight to New York and my tickets for the US Open last night. So my reward for not gambling this year is a trip to New York. Its in my hands, stay clean and have the holiday or gamble and lose it all! I won't be gambling. Already excited, being a huge sports fan I've got the last 6 days of the tennis booked and whilst I'm there I want to see Frank Lampard playing for New York City and go to see the Mets and the Yankees. The NFL will also be on whilst I'm over so I will be hoping to see the Jets or Giants. My flight was only 488, I could lose that in half an hour in a bookies, I've for once in my life made the right choice!

No bets today, don't want it, got the barriers in place and I feel happy!

Morning Phil,

Great news to read you have booked flights for New York, it's amazing what we can do with our money, when we stop gambling,

And well done 40 days of winning.

Just a quick post this morning. I'm currently on the bus on my way to the station for my day out in Morecambe, hoping the games not going to be called off last minute. If I was gambling today wouldn't be an option, I would have to let everyone down like the old me did so many times until people forgot I existed. That won't be happening again! I don't usually buy a paper but today I have to read on the train, but I made my first good choice today which was as soon as I had bought it to take the racing section out and put it in the bin!

I won't be gambling today, I will be enjoying a good few too many pints and hopefully celebrating a big win later! Not so long ago I felt powerless, but now I'm back to my best and I can beat this!

Early hours of day 43, football day was messy, way too many beers, but most importantly didn't go anywhere near a bookies, didn't want to. I'm getting some sleep now, still feeling strong and happy!

Phil

fella great to see you have taken from the past and used it to build a future

For me there is nothing wrong with making mistakes in life,it's how we address them in the future.

It is true you cannot change the past but you can decide your future.

Keep making a choice that is the one which gifts you the opportunity

Abstain and maintain

Duncs stepping forward never back

Thanks Duncs, your advice and support when I was at my lowest was a big influence on me and helped me get back on the straight and narrow.

I'm currently bored out of my skull in work. But I'm feeling good, I've been thinking about how good life is without that devil on my shoulder trying to tempt me back. Maybe my life music is so high right now that it's drowning him out. I've got so much to look forward to, just got to keep making the right choices!

Day 44, without a bet, it looks good to see the number quickly increasing, won't be long and I will be up to day 50! Just a quick post as I am running late for work. But things are good, I'm happy, no urges, so bring work on!!!!

Day 45 and again I wake up with no urges or desires to lie and gamble. I've got a new start time from today in work of 1pm, can't say I'm too happy with this but just going to have to get on with it. I've downloaded an counting app on my phone, two things in in so far, one is a countdown to New York and the other is a count of days since I last gambled. Its good to see one number decreasing as the other increases.

Day 46, last day in work for the week and I will be glad to get it done. Fortunately I again wake with no bad thoughts or urges. I choose again not to gamble! Just a quick post as I have to get sorted for work, but things are headed in the right direction.
