Good for you Martin , To be honest mate , that's some scary shi.te right there getting back into the dating game , I felt exactly the same after being with the same woman for 26 yrs but as Loxxie said " let nature take it's course " and its suprising how quickly you feel quite natural again . I was going to say " It's like riding a bike , you never forget " but prob the wrong choice of words really , just make sure yiou don't fall off and remember where the bell is ? :)).

Great to see you enjoying life old buddy .

Take care ...... AL x

Hi there thank you for the post on my diary. I don't get on here all that much as I'm kept busy - which is a good thing - keeps me out of trouble! Best wishes for your continued success.

Not had a bet today or since my last post

Starting to enjoy the forum again, the last month it worn me down a bit so I impose my own SE for a bit refresh the batteries and come back fully charged.

Had a tough day yesterday a couple of slips at GA and then my bud Change on here. Everyone of them thinks they have let us down. I don't see it like that I would I've they didn't come back and be honest as they all have and not give up on giving up.

Scares me so much if I had a slip but o took something from all 3 of them last night it will help me keep focused guards high and working on me to continue improving on the me that was drowning this time last year. I was at my height of gambling 12 months ago chasing and chasing what had already gone getting deeper in debt more payday loans, wedding money had long gone overdraft was maxed out. Can't go back there won't go back there.

So selfishly thank you guys for reminding me what is waiting if I place that first bet.

KTF I still have on you 3

Thanks Martin and Al - I'm coming back stronger. Everything happens for a reason. At least it happened now rather than in a year's time. I'm correcting my mistakes and I won't let you down. Keep the faith.

Not had a bet today or since my last post.

I had a huge sleep in this morning didn't get to sleep till gone 3am as was looking after my son at the other house but I can't remember ever sleeping in till 1. I must of needed it woke up feeling like I'd been out on the ale all night but not a drop passed my lips.

Spent most of the day relaxing doing nothing just watching the golf and cricket and reading on here.

I've read my diary from the start I've done it before but just skipped through it, this time I took it all in really enjoyed it lots of sad times but they don't last the next day a bit more positive.

Amazing to see how many people have come and gone. I'd like to think they are out there enjoying a gamble free life and I'm sure some are. Part of me thinks they are in trouble slipping back into old habits but I can't help that if they don't come here and ask for support.

One thing that was very clear in my diary is the support I have been given and I have certainly tried to give that support back.

I appreciate all the support I have had, a bit like a football manager I don't want to single anyone out but saying that I've been lucky to start this journey around the same time as Alan and re reading my diary I don't think I could have done it without his support.

Think I'll pop into chat tonight to see how everyone is and see if any help is needed by some just beginning this journey.

The support of others is amazing! I just need to remember that each and every day! Gaz, Andy and Luke helped me out on Facebook today within minutes of my sending a message so just shows.

Evening Martin , thanks for your words earlier mate, I myself will never forget you saying about walking my daughter gamble free down the aisle and those words have spurred me along through some difficult times .

Thanks for the mention in your last post buddy but it's honestly no more than youv'e done for me along this journey of ours , I've had a few doubts and stick moments along the way and youv'e always been among the first to jump in and offer support , so thank you my friend as well .

I don't know if it's because were nearly coming up to the end of our first year together or not ? but I've been reflecting a lot just lately , looking at old posts and thinking about how things have changed for us all and as you mentioned the people weve lost or have gone a bit quiet along the way and to be honest it gets a bit emotional at times ( or is that just me , coz I just forgot I'm a soft southern Bstd ?) .

I'm really proud of myself and I'm equally as proud of you for sticking around and seeing it through me old mate , all those early struggles make it all seem worth it now don't they :)) .

Your words will be with me mate as I walk my daughter on her wedding day , so thanks for all the help along the way Martin .

Have a great evening buddy and as always it's a pleasure to walk with you . KTF

Evening Martin , just wanted to pop by and wish you well for tommorow and say a huge congratulations on reaching your 300 day milestone , I know you don't care so much for the day count but it deserves a mention as youv'e come so far on your journey to get to a better place and what also needs a mention is the amount of hard work you put in around the forum helping others and helping me along the way .

Thanks for the cheesy story the other night , I did mention on my diary so I hope you saw it , youv'e always been with me and there for me along our journey and as always it's an honor and pleasure to still see you there .

I've done this now as I've got another manic day on tommorow , so enjoy day 300 old friend and have a beer or two for me eh .

Take care Bud x
