I don’t post much these days but sometimes something triggers you not always in a bad way. Had to find my diary and says over 3700 days gamble free I used to count in days now it’s years at the start the next day was an achievement.

so why am I posting today? I’ve not had a bet for over 10 years but around 22 years I was in in me early years of being a compulsive gambler and blew my council tax money and was short and  on a last warning and a young lad bailed me out by lending me £50 I did the right thing and paid the bill but then didn’t dj the right thing and pay it back to him. This was back in the day when I was chewing uo in the lakes and I’ll never honest it never played in my mind till I stopped gambling and took account of what I done to people, he was a young kid and 50 quid back then was a decent amount of money.

this weekend I visited the lakes ines again I’ve been back 3 or 4 times but never seen him but bumped into him  we sis out hellos shock hands and nothing was mentioned. If I had the cash in my there and then I’d have given it to him but like lots of people I live in cashless word over than a few emergencies pounds tucked in my phone case.

i went back tj my group of mates and ask a friend to lend me £50 and this is a friend who back in my gambling days I have lent 100’s no 1000’s off and he always got it back so when need I could ask for more, gamblers mentality. The young commis chef never got his back. My mate who is very aware of my history questioned me and said. Why? You’ve not asked me for a borrow for years so explained and he understood and handed it over straight away.

I went looking for this lad asked for a quiet word amd

gabe home back his 50 plus the emergency money from the back of the phone 29 odd years in he claimed he didn’t remember it but once i explained why how and when he did. He didn’t want to take it but made him and briefly explained why.

i wont lie it felt good i had an amazing weekend but that was the highlight for me and yeah my mate got his 50 back.

it’s took a long time to get to this stage but it’s never ti late ti make a wrong right.

and as always it’s better to ramble than Gamble

it’s took a long time to get to this stage but it’s never ti late to make a wrong right. It’s not the first time I’ve done something similar and even after all this time I’ve still got a few more in  my recovery bucket list but this one was special didn’t think it would happen. It never too late guys never give up on giving up and u used to say if nothing changes nothing changes. Now I say if things changes things change
