This is it. I have put every measure in place I possibly can, I’ve had enough of gambling ruining my life. I can and will do this.
The damage suffered is in the past. Compared to how bad it could be, the debt I am in is fairly small and manageable with time and motivation. But this has happened and I need to move past it and start a fresh to get to a better place.
I have tried this multiple times and done ok but always fell back, this time I only want to see my days gamble free increasing.
I’ve got this. So has each and every one of you on this journey too!
thank you for taking the time to read this. I wish you all the support in the world, I will be joining the evening chats when I can too
Take care, all the best & speak soon.

Great first step, loving the positivity which i believe is so important.

You are 100% right in that you can do this.

Don`t pressure yourself, learn to relax and rest, and gradually things will turn around for you.

I look forward to updates, and seeing it happen.

so much is going well in my life I refuse to let this keep ruining things.
thanks so much, I’ll keep my diary up to day for my motivation and to show others too!
hope you’re doing okay in your journey?x

Hi

Each time  went back to gambling it was important to understand what my last emotional trigger was.

In my recovery I got to understand my emotional triggers, pains I could not heal, fears I could not face, frustrations due to my unreasonable expectations of people life and situations, loneliness, and boredom.

Save your self lots of pains and suffering by sticking with the recovery program.

Love healing and peace to everyone.

@gadaveuk thanks so much for the inspiration Dave, today is hopefully day 4 for me & still feeling positive.
I know a trigger for me is when I feel bored, or like I’m not good enough I had the mindset of ‘if I have a big win I’ll be good enough then’ but I am starting to see how unhealthy that is and taking up new hobbies to override those feelings.
All the best x

Fantastic to hear,

As soon as those urges start, go and do something, anything, be ready because as you know you will get them.

You`ve got this, stay positive.

Today is my day 1. Arranged a counselling appointment. Went to the doctors to talk about my depression. I feel empowered about starting my journey. I am a 34 year woman and often feel so ashamed because I am a woman gambler. No more self blame. I am taking back my life.

@ae20 - well done, don’t ever feel ashamed, I’m also a 25 year old woman and have realised you have to accept the past as what it is in order to move on. Good luck on your journey, you’ve got this!

@fishandchips1066, thank you so much!! Today marks day 10 gf, feeling positive. Stay strong x

So I fell back off the wagon, big time.. not even sure how to process the fact I can’t seem to beat this. So utterly disappointed in myself that it’s back to square one AGAIN.
Just keep finding myself trying to gamble to win my losses back.. ugh.

I am so sorry to gear that haystack, i really am.

What lessons have you learnt from the relapse, how are you going to use what you may have learnt.

Get back on the horse and come back stronger, you CAN do it.

Good Luck.
