Day 7.

By the end of today I will have gone a whole week without the slots.

Do I feel better yet? No...... I maybe sleep a little better but that's all. I am today grumpy and edgy.

Will I give in??? NO WAY

Oh no... The post has just arrived and the bank have sent me a new Debit Card although I asked them not to.

I have not opened the envelope.... Yet... But it's from my bank and I can feel the new card inside.

What to do?, What to do??????????????

Please tell me you figured out what to do with that bank card. Cancelled it again ??

Can you burn it? Seriously.

I had a s****y day.

From my first post at 9.05am says, I was already feeling grumpy & edgy today.

When the card turned up I really struggled...

should I cut it up? ..... I new that would not work as I could always put it back together again later in the day!!

I did think about burning it Jenilee? .... But I didn't know how it would react to the gas hob. ( Would it be safe? Would I be spending the next few hours trying to clean burnt plastic off the gas hob?)

i was not in a good place.

I was angry at my life... I had tried to stop, I had put myself out by cancelling my card, I had asked the bank not to send a replacement. But their incompetence was testing me... It just wasn't fair !!!!

i then got angry with the help we get.....

No GA meetings for nearly 60 miles ( 2 AA groups in my town)

This forum, great as it is, relys on someone being on line to offer support when you post needing it.

I am still feeling P****d off now but I didn't gamble today.

What I did was take the envelope and put it through next doors letterbox. (later to blame on postman) My neighbours work full time so I new they would not be home till after 6pm when my hubby would be home. (he can destroy it for me.)

Actually, they have not brought it round yet.... I hope they don't go on a shopping spree with it. Ha, ha.

I am now on the red wine (2nd glass!) and looking forward to a better day tomorrow.

Still gamble free.

Yes and me Sally. That was brilliant idea to post it next door. I have cut up my bank card before but you can still see the numbers. Cant believe how stupid the bank have been!!! I couldnt gamble these last few days as BT hub had broken. Took BT 6 days to come and fix problem!!! Furious as i pay business rates!! So i can sympathise with you Sally how frustrating things can be.

And thanks again for popping on my diary.

Posting my card through next doors letterbox did seem like a good idea yesterday (& did stop me from gambling.) BUT they never brought it round last night. She did pop round this morning after my hubby had left for work and for a moment I thought "Oh God I am going to have my card back again all day!!!!)

But she didn't even mention it!!!!!! She was just asking a different favour. So now what?? I couldn't ask her for it cos that would mean owning up to being the one that posted it through her letterbox and I was planning on the postman getting the blame.

Guess I best ring the bank today and cancel it again. I will ask them if they can send a "Cashcard" only so that...

a) I don't end up with problem again next week.

b) I can get cash out from ATM without making a trip in to the branch.

Oh well, got to laugh about it now, although I was not laughing yesterday.

Looking forward to a stress free day today & gamble free as well.

I'm still glad you did post it through the neighbors door. I would call the bank and cancel it today tell them it was stolen right after it arrived before you activated it or something. They'll cancel it for free. Stay strong.

Thanks Jenilee, I did call the bank and the card is now cancelled and hopefully a new "Cashcard" only will be on it's way.

Let's hope that the bank get this right as I will be opening the envelope next time it arrives!!!

anyway... Onwards & upwards
