End of Day 9. Busy tonight which is good. Second weekend navigated.
Good work Change. We’ve made it through another weekend and you’ve learnt along the way. You also got a shiny Apple Watch repaired as you had time to invest.
The funny thing is in years to come you will miss the little guy waking you up early in the morning as he will be the one sleeping in.
Nothing wrong with going to church if it helps you. It’s not everyone’s bag or belief but I think it teaches us lessons and morals which is always good.
Keep on going. We can crack this.
CJ.
Day 10 and start of a new week...
Day 10 lunchtime and having a cheese and onion sandwich. Finding it a bit easier to manage recovery this time. Swapping messages with CJ who is at same point of recovery is really beneficial for me. Also thanks to the wise heads of Alan and Oldham. Keep the faith!
Not sure on the choice of sandwich 🙂 only messing.
We are now through almost through day 10. Then onto day 11 and here we go.
Glad our little bit of banter and chats help. We will make it and we can kick this bad addiction.
CJ.
Cheers CJ!
Morning of Day 11. Done the daily commute. Done the daily pledge. Let’s start on the spreadsheets without being distracted by having to check scores!
Well done for getting back in the saddle Change.
Picking oneself up of the dirst and brushing off the dust is part and parcel of recovery. All you can to is learn from your previous lapse and try to ride the recovery pony a bit further each time until you fall off less and less and eventually not at all.
Spreadsheets are boring enough without being compounded by the inevitable low following a gambling bender. You might find, as I find with contracts, that those spreadsheets are not quite as boring once you settle into recovery. Work is hard enough for the best of us and does not have to be made even harder by the unnecessary distraction that addition creates.
I am really pleased that you are starting to get some more gamble free days under your belt and hopefully your positive voice will re-emerge soon.
Best wishes,
Markman
Cheers Markman! Day 12 now. Posting every day still and it’s helping.
Day 12 evening. Settling down to bath my son and relax a bit tonight. Done ok in recovery so far but need to listen to some podcasts tonight.
Another day done. Day 13 here we come.
CJ.
Day 13. Done my commute. Just making some brews and then back to work.
Two weeks today. Taylor Swift just come on office radio... shake it off! Shake off the gambling!
End of two weeks. Feel I’ve made some decent steps in recovery. Been speaking to my wife about it a bit more and it was a huge relief to get it off my chest.
Secret Garden - Bruce Springsteen... from the film Jerry Maguire... absolute belter
Well done on two weeks. We’ve both got there.
Glad you’ve talked to your wife about it. Hopefully she is seeing a change in you that is positive.
Let’s keep going and make it three weeks then four. One day at a time.
Good choice of song. Better than what’s stuck inside my head after watching the new Lego Movie. Hahaha
Affected by gambling?
