Day 10 almost done. Probably hardest day so far due to lots of football on.

Resisted and feel stronger for it.

Day 13 today.

So far so good.

I keep having an argument in my head that I will be fine to have football bets as i feel my true addiction is the fobt's. I never chased my losses with football like I did on the fobt's.

Luckily at the moment I'm staying strong and realising all gambling is the same and as I've said in a earlier entry one thing would often lead to another.

Hope you don't lose that arguement. Your a wise man Andy. If i place the first bet, placing the second one becomes immeasurably easier

Tri x

Hi Andy, welcome to recovery đŸ™‚

My final downfall was the FOBTs & I continued doing the lottery because I could take it or leave it but I can honestly say, Mr Gamble has spent an inordinate amount of time trying to draw me back in by ways that never previously appealed! A £25 win on the lottery saw a battle of wills take place in the entrance to Tesco where a Galaxy Ripple called time & since then I have been very very wary. You have already said you are able to enjoy the footie without having a bet on so keep fighting to leave it @ that...Give addiction an inch & it will take a mile!

Great work on your journey so far & remember, there is support on here & @ Gamanon should your wife think she would benefit from it! Keep choosing 'no' - ODAAT

14 days today. Somehow feels longer than that since I was sat in the bookies pumping money into the machine.

Next challenge is 21 days.

Off work today so going to hit the gym and keep myself nice and busy.

Day 14 almost complete. My wife is working away for a couple of days which would usually have meant me either bring in the bookies or betting on football on my phone. Instead I have been to the gym and cooked myself a healthy tea.

I really hope I can carry this on and never go back to the world of gambling.

Finding this site a huge help.

I wish everyone on here all the best. Stay strong folks.

Today is day 17.

So far so good. Been thinking about gambling a bit Today due to it being Saturday and there being football on.

Life is good at the moment. Busy with work and been trying to get to the gym as much as possible. It makes me wonder how I used to find so much time to sit staring at those horrendous machines.

Hope everyone is staying strong.

Day 19 today. Glad to report I have had no urges at all.

Ive only just realised how many bookmaker adverts there are on the tv and radio. Before I stopped I didn't really notice but now I notice everyone of them.

My wife had been absolutely amazing. I put off telling her for far too long. I feel so much different trying to stop knowing that she knows about everything. Somehow it feels a lot easier.

3 weeks since my last bet.

That day I lost a fortune and it felt like the end of the world at the time. Looking back it is beginning to feel like a blessing in disguise. If I hadn't had such a bad day I would still be keeping it all a secret and be wasting all my time and money in the bookies glued to the evil machines.
