So today is day 1 of not betting, and my first day on the site.

A bit about myself I'm Darren can call me Daz i work on the railway and an electrician.

I started gambling when I was 12 with the grandparents penny slots and that sort of stuff. Turned 15 played 5 slots with my mates I mean 5 jackpot and we were sometis putting 20 ludicrous!!

16 years old going to town and pubs moved on to 70 jackpots 50p spins spending all my beer money before the nights even started.

I used to popin bookies but not that much at that age.

Then that's where it started I opened up my first betting account online *********.

From there till now at the age of 27 As the technology on phones have evolved I pretty much had an account with all the major bookies on my phone.

I felt the need to bet on everything and everything. Id go round the mates watching a game they would be happy but not me no I have a voice in my head saying you have to bet.

Cut a long story short you all must be getting bored sorry but I need to get it all off my chest it's been bottled up for years, last night I decided enough a enough me and the girlfriend want to save for a mortgage it ain't gonna happen with me gambling. I self bared myself from all my online bookies, deleted all apps which is a start right? Now have joined here

Thank you all for reading Daz

Hi Daz,

Day 1 here also, how has your day been?

I am similar to you, 25 but been consumed by gambling for years, we are also wanting to save for a mortgage. I spent all day yesterday self excluding from all the sites. I feel this is a massive step in the right direction. I hope your day has been ok.

Take care

Hi Daz

Sunday was my Day 1 this time around. I hope it went well for you mate. You are making the right decision as am I. Was hardly interested in anything (except united!) unless there was money on it! I'm around the same age, 26, and have been gambling heavily for 7 years with a break of 13 months prior to May this year. I managed my addiction for over a year but when I returned it was worse than ever! It's a great time to do something about this problem before we lose everything.

Hope today went well. Myles.
