One day at a time my friend. That's all any of us can do and put recovery above everything else.

You can't help someone else if your own cup is empty or not full of goodness. Our own recovery affects so many around us

@lp5vut869c So true Stuart 👌.

I remember years ago, I was on an accredited programme training course for a week with the Probation Service. Anyway, half way through, we all had a “mid week review” with one of the trainers. Part way through our conversation she said to me “you can’t help anyone else until you have helped yourself first”. I immediately thought to myself “how stupid, I have a young son who I need to put first before myself “!!.

It was only a number of years later that I realised how right she had been! “How can I possibly look after my son/anyone else if everything in my world is not ok”?

So yes, the moral of the story is ….. “sort out number one first then anything after that is possible”!👍.

Have a lovely Easter Stuart 🐣🍫🐣🍫.

Pink Lady 🍎🩷.

Good morning to my friend , the lady in pink (Chris de burgh)

I've sent you a virtual Easter egg special delivery. You are such a special person in this community and I'm certain that goes for your life as well.

Is it good to have your friend staying with you ?

Do you have any plans for Easter ?

Any further news on the job front now that you have tie DBS in place ?

Day 136 GF

Good recovery day and mixed with family

Went to Gamfam zoom early this morning which was good and a great community on there

Chatroom at 1130 was just me and the mod but we had a great chat and I needed today after such an awful week.

Call from the police to come in and sign a form so my week kept on getting worse.

Did some step 4 work and about do some more.

8pm chatroom was really good as always

9pm LA GA meeting online had done really good shares

One day at a time. About 16,200 days gambling....136 gamble free days

Day 137 gamble free

Late entry again

Good day today for Easter Sunday and got given a lovely Easter egg from my daughter

Family day today down at my parents and cooked them roast beef etc. Always lovely to spend the day with my Dad who Is bed ridden. My dad has always been my hero and my best friend. Now that I'm in recovery we are closer than ever before.

I lifted him out of bed today and into a wheelchair so he could enjoy dinner at the dining room table which was fantastic.

Tonight I was honoured to be in the 8pm chatroom to celebrate my good friend Tazmans 1000 days GF, an incredible milestone

Went to a different GA zoom tonight which was New York East Side. Really good meeting and is my 9th in person or online meeting on my quest to do at least 90 meetings in 90 days.

On the trip down and back I listened to a couple of recovery podcasts including a very good friend of mine Lewis on the Breakeven podcast. He runs a group called Good Mind Circles which is a walk and talk group. Simple and no cost.

Good day all round

@adam123

Hi Adam

Thank you mate and that means a lot. I'm a newbie and not a legend mate. I'm one of the defenders in the back four behind you as the striker and top goal scorer every year. For someone who has been on this site for so long, is on the chatroom virtually every night and reading posts on the forum then replying is something for me to aspire to.

I agree, let's make April special, on Gamcare. Let's reach out and offer support each day to anyone struggling, anyone who is new and celebrate everything that recovery offers as a new way of love and a new way of thinking

One day at a time, one hour at a time and one second at a time

Day 138 gamble free

Cracking day grommit.

Good GA meeting tonight, sorry I missed the chatroom but hopefully they will make the 8pm one two hours long so I can get on after GA on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays

Off to the modern meeting online at 1am which is my highlight of the week.

Am on day 10 of 90 GA meetings in 90 days but will continue until I miss one behind that.

Finished my resentment sheets for step 4. Didn't think I had any but I was so wrong. The longest one was resentment of myself which was for every category.

Hope everyone has a gamble free Tuesday

My name is Stuart B and I'm a compulsive gambler

I was once married to a Stuart B!! Same spelling as well! It was in the summer of 1988. You must have been in your teens then?

Anyway, just thought I would highlight this/it would amuse you!😆.

Have a good day.

@j5a6meyr4z

Hi Pink Lady

That is hilarious. I was in the last year of my teens. Started working in 87.

Absolutely love that, it brings new meaning to, focus on the similarities in recovery and not the differences

I guess that one didn't work out for you ?

Days 139.Gamble free yesterday

This is a belated diary entry. Don't know if a gone else is experiencing this but each time I post at the moment the site is crashing.

So Tuesday 7th was a really good day. Spent some time with family during the day and had my peer support zoom in the morning. Met up with sponsor for steps work before my home GA meeting last night. Small number at the meeting but still as powerful to talk with others in recovery.

140 days Gamble free

That's just starting to feel like a good number. No complacency and I do feel if I can get to the 200s I will feel that I've actually achieved something. I can't see me doing any less work everyday in ten years time let alone 60 days

Really good day today. Went down to see parents and give my mum a break so she went shopping with my daughter while I watched dad. Lovely chat with him

Counselling day today for session 19 I think.

Very busy evening

6pm chatroom on here

7pm zoom with Gamlearn

8pm chatroom on here which was really good

845 got a facetime from Sam demello of Evive and Adam Lyons from the modern meeting which was good fun and talked through some ideas

Spoke to sponsor

10pm GA online which was my 12th meeting of 90

Then did an hour of steps work.
