Hi Everyone
Â
I've always been jealous of people who can have dreams when they sleep as I rarely had one. When I was a child I used to have dreams about flying which was amazing. I would just flap my arms and start flying. I was the only human in the world that could do this and would travel around my town telling people to simply wave their arms. Maybe it was the years of chaos in my brain which blocked the dreams or the three hours sleep per night with thoughts of how can a fuel tomorrows addiction. I had the odd dream about certain h****s winning and a few about new ideas to implement in my company. The weird things is the Hs did win but I knly have that dream two or three times so I didn't end up a multi millionaire. The ideas were put in place and made money for me that went to the gambling industry not surprisingly and they never said thank you lol.Â
Anyway, to the point at hand. On Saturday night had the most vivid dream. Unfortunately I can't see how this possibly comes true.Â
In my dream I was sitting in my armchair watching TV and the BBC news came on. The breaking news was an announcement of new legislation for the gambling industry. The government had finally realised the harm that gambling was causing, the divorces, the mental health costs, GP costs, counselling costs, loss of work days and much more which ended up being more than the tax coming in. They had decided to create a central banking system. This concept would mean that anyone who wanted to gamble would have to open an account with this new bank. They would be ID checked, be asked to send a video asking to open the account and then go through affordability checks including bank statements and wage slips. No savings or house ownership details were included. The bank set a limit as to how much each person could spend monthly which was affordable but decided by them and not the consumer.Â
It was then stated that everyone would receive an account number and card from the bank. All betting operators could only take bets from this new card and the card would stop anyone going over their monthly limit. This included lottery retailers and online and physical casinos and arcades.
This system was aimed to end gambling addiction. Obviously it was too late for me but could save the next generation. A few would slip though into a small black market. A few might be able to get around the system but I doubt it. Most of all, it would reduce the harm caused by gambling by 99%

Shame this one dream won't come true.Â
