Thanks Pink lady, it's great to read your doing well also! Finally landed that job I see 🎉 over the moon that things are looking up for you too! Definitely "normal" is the only way now.
Day 525 Gamble Free
Day 525 today.
I'm doing okay and continuing to manage my way through the World Cup. Tournament betting was something I always looked forward to in the past, so I've deliberately not been watching much of it. Just the England games, and that's been enough for me.
I also managed to avoid getting involved in the work sweepstakes. At one point I had to be quite firm in saying no, but I'm proud that I stuck to my boundaries. Recovery sometimes means having uncomfortable conversations, and that's okay.
I'm still attending GA and still making sure I keep my recovery alive. I never want to forget that I'm a compulsive gambler, because that's what keeps me grounded and reminds me why I can't become complacent.
My updates are few and far between these days because life is so hectic, but I'm still here, still on the straight and narrow, one day at a time.
One thing I often do is go back and read my Day 1 diary. It reminds me where I was, how desperate I felt, and just how far I've come. It's a powerful reminder that recovery is worth protecting.
I hope you're all doing well and keeping strong. Whether you're on Day 1 or Day 1,000, keep going. It really is worth it.
