Hello Diary.

Looking out from my twelfth floor window at the city of Hull and the beautiful River Humber.

Days like this make me very happy.

Soon be off for my stroll around the old dock and marina where I feed the ducks and a coot before walking to the pier and river.

When I first started feeding the ducks several weeks ago I was advised to continue it throughout the winter and that us what I promised I would do.

It gives me so much pleasure and one coot and two ducks in particular see me coming and paddle over to get their daily dose of oats which I throw on the water.

Funny to watch them eating (like mini vacuum cleaners) ???. They have to be quick though because the oats sink after a minute or two. I have been adding some dried mealworms but concerned that the mealworms are treated cruelly so have stopped buying them.

Funny enough I am benefitting greatly because some days I do not feel like going out but force myself to do so because I dont want the ducks and coot to be sad and after I feed them I seem to get a fresh burst of energy and stay out for a few more hours and enjoy a cup of coffee from a shop near the pier.

Yesterday I purchased some confectionery to last me several days and have finished eating it all. The last 3 Yorkie Bars have just disappeared in the blink of an eye ???.

The only solution is not to buy it in the first place.

Overcast raining and rather dull

Which makes a change for sunny old Hull

But off I go for a walk see the sights

And on the way home have a look at the lights

???

Seven degrees and raining

Raining all day long

Not the weather for flip flops or a summer thong

So I will don my waterproofs 

And set off with a smile

To feed my friends the ducks and talk to them a while

In truth they are my counsellers 

Who listen to my woes

Paddling around with little legs

And teeny weeny toes 

??????

Boarded the gamble free train

Its engine started to roar

The driver blew his whistle 

And quickly closed the door

The GamCare Special started to roll

And we all glanced around

GamCare friends on a mission

Not to fool around

Some days if we were vulnerable 

Gamstop was our shining armour 

Along with blocks and exclusions

That made us feel much calmer

But the truly magical ingredient 

So far as I can see

Is the wonderful GamCare friends

Who are making this journey with me

And I would like to thank them 

From my beating heart and soul

For the times when I felt weary

And they held me so I would not fall

I salute my gamcare brothers and sisters.
