Thank you soldiers,

Life can b a b itch ( god I swear a lot lol)... but we hav to keep fighting. Good bad and the ugly, ...just deal with it head on. Had a little read about life in general and got more understanding what i actually want from it. ... it is easy to fotget what simple things in life we have..but don't appreciate enough...appreciate life - and u will get appreciation from it in return.

1. In order to have good things, there must be bad

things.Without one, the other couldn’t exist. So instead of lamenting the bad and celebrating the good, celebrate both. Celebrate the bad because it will eventually be good. And celebrate the good before it goes bad.

2. You’ll never be perfect—just like everyone else.

3. People are mean or angry or sad because they need to be at that time.Just like a lightning bolt, it seems very intense and like it’ll last forever, but it’s only temporary.

4. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. You don’t ever want to find out what that’s like. Eventually, it’ll go full circle and turn into something bad.

5. You can’t control everything and everyone. So why bother trying? Just flow with it. You can’t change the way things happen, but you can change your reaction to them.

6. Money and wealth are not the same.Money can only buy stuff. Wealth is something money can’t buy. Money is fine jewelry and nice cars. Wealth is a full belly and a house full of loved ones.

7. You’re exactly where you are right now because that’s where you need to be.You’ll only understand why in hindsight.

8. You don’t want or need to know the future.Have you ever played a game with an inferior opponent? After a while, it’s obvious that you’re going to win every time. Then you stop playing. The same would be true if you knew the future. The fun is in the not knowing. Embrace it! Let life surprise you!

9. No one will remember the little flub you made in the office or at home earlier. If no one else is beating you up about it, why should you?

10. Life doesn’t assault you or throw curve balls at you; you get what you give.Think you deserve better? Give better.

11. If you don’t like someone or they don’t like you it’s because you each see yourself in them.

12. Right now, at this instant, you have everything you need to be happy: Air in your lungs, blood in your veins, and lips to smile with.

13. When things break and need mending, it gives us something to do.

14. Everyone makes mistakes.Even people you perceive to be perfect. They’re the furthest from it.

15. Success has no standard definition. The beautiful thing is you get to define it for yourself.

16.Life is very simple. We just insist on complicating it.

17. You don’t need something to be happy. You need someone—and that someone is you.

18. Just like you look up to someone, someone out there looks up to you. Act accordingly.

19. There’s a lesson hidden in everything. You just have to find it.

20. Other people have had your problems before and managed to overcome them. You can too.

My world is better balanced today.

Take care all

Thank you ladies,, Carla, f*** knows why I put those words down, couse I'm too thick to follow those steps myself...maybe it helps others, fingers crossed xx

Dear diary,

Day 134. I went the same number of days before in my recovery and had a lapse. This time feeling a little bit stronger and with more armour to fight urges away....but...as we all know it can get u unexpected.

Did my life improve so far in my journey? Yes and no. I have some money and don't live on a eggshells on that perspective. Wow!!!f*****g money in a bank, what a joy!!..b*****ks ... I don't care about money, I want peace with myself, to find the answers and stop this emotions merry go round. ...I have no peace with myself, everything in my world is going round circles. Which exit to take, what next. I find my life very confusing. I seem to stop myself from moving on. I hate it diary. Like a hamster going round the wheel.

Need a break. Need to get away and sort myself out. But of course I wont once again. Couse u know...I have a routine, work, responsibilities....vicious cycle with no way out. I am my own prisoner. Maybe one day....maybe not, I can get out of it and face changes in my life. Confusing ....if life was easier to navigate....today, I am just going round roundabout and making myself sick with it all.

Love it, let it b.

The worst to happen is head to slots. But it's only another never ending vicious cycle with worse consequences.

No spirit today, just need to went my feelings...

Day at a time

Sx

Hi Sandra , you are not thick those words inspired me and you wrote what you were feeling at the time. You've done amazing to get to the place you are now and as you said your stronger this time, for every relapse that we previously had it has only built us up more to be even more determined.

No two days are going to be emotionally the same but we will eventually learn to cope with it, I'm sure of it. Change is never easy, you may never find the answers but do what is right for you, go with your instinct, don't get stuck on that merry go round, life's too short. I hope your spirit comes back soon, we are all here for you 100%

Take care xx

Hey Sandra,

I hear you on the whole life/routine thing. I sometimes think about the way my life would have played out if I had made a different choice at one time or another. We're always in control of our own destiny though (well, most of the time).

Keep up the good work Sandra.

hey Wee Pal

I'm mega mega impressed- you are a star 🙂

Beaten your previous record (emmmm can I say "told you so"????). You have grown so much in recovery and changed so much in your approach to life. Its been a lovely journey to follow. Even how you tackle the hard bits have changed.

Since we're pals, I'm sure you wont mind me "borrowing" some of your list?!

Hopefully catch up soon,

Take care

Irene

Thank you all so much dear friends xxx

Right, will try to keep it short. My wee pal Irene brought memories back in my journey so far to find the way to the calmer future. Really learned a lot on my way, i feel like i grown up here..like a baby being constantly looked after and cared for....arrr...time comes to grow up one day lol...and try to stand on my own two feet...

Recovery is bespoke and i really learned to believe that. Life will never b rosy, as much as i wish it was, but i learned to be happy for what i've got now. Can't ask for more..it is enough for me...it helps me to look forward...

I just want to thank you all for being here for me, i will never forget these great souls i found on my way in this life...many many of u dear fighters, ...my heart is not big enough to share a piece with all of you. Many of you are not around this site anymore or not as active...life goes on...it has to, no matter how painful it can be ...

Irene, Duncan, Julie...i have priviledge to keep contact with u away from the forum. ... and i wouldn't change my shy requests to swap email addresses for anything in this world..I am glad i have an opportunity to share my journey with u on here and away from this supportive site.

I learned many lessons on a way, and i know for sure that if not u dear soldiers and many more on this site i wouldn't get where i am now 🙂 thank you...

...never forgeting GC staff for their continued support in my recovery and handling my little rants....(sorry about that)..

I will stay strong, i will look after myself and i will keep making the right choice...just for today...it is more than i could ask for. Opportunity to stay on the right direction.

That's it for now...not as short post aftrr all lol...got a bit carried away with my emotions..just want you all to know, that you been and still are a huge part in my journey and life.

Thank you

Day at a time

Will keep the belief going because i know it can be done

Hi Sandra,

Well done on continuing to fight and beat this day by day, sorry to read you have a tough time of it earlier in the week. Reading on Duncan's diary earlier, gambling amplifies the problem we have, but quitting gambling doesn't mean that all the other problems disappear. Trying to find peace and happiness within ourselves is a different journey we take alongside fighting gambling. Sometimes it feels that we are nearly there, and sometimes that balance is a thousand miles away. We can only keep working towards that happiness and balance, and hope to find it.

All the best Sandra, be proud for what you achieve and what you have continued to achieve every day.

Ryan
