Hi Freda
Sometimes I fail to understand how the process of buying a property can be made so stressful by all the so called experts that are in place to help!
We bought our first place about 16 years ago, but as first time buyers that was easy as we weren't in any immediate hurry to move in. (Well I wasn't! I am a little more patient than the better half)
When we moved into our second house, there was no chain at either end, no problem with the mortgage but it still took the legal eagles 3 months to complete.
Have promised myself the next move will involve me being in a b*****y box!
Hope your doing ok, nice to see still gamble free.
Take care
M
Hi f,
They say that buying and moving to a new home is one of the most stressful things. Sounds like your coping well.
Anyway ive had a word with Yoda and he say that "the force is with you" .. have a good day.. S.A 🙂
Woo hoo! Can't believe Ive got Yoda in my corner! Sweet.
I passed the credit checks with another lender today - so we have a mortgage!!!! The other company really was too harsh - I might have had a payment arrangement set up for the credit card, while I wasn't working but I didn't miss a single payment in 3 years!
Anyways, they are toast now. Mwa-ha-haaa!
I am coping well considering. It is good to see. Glad Its all happening while Ive got loads of time off work, so I don't have to cope with both.
Do you know, it gives me no pleasure to say this, but since Ive cut 2 very nasty judgemental people out of my life - its been nothing but onward and upward. Sometimes you have to walk away if people are dragging you down.
Great news that you've been approved for a mortgage Freda, you can both relax now!!!,i wouldn't have thought it will take that long before your all signed up:),check your rental contract out now to make sure the landlord wont cop you for 3 months notice.stay strong.
Seano.
Hello Freda, have spent time looking through your diary and I enjoed your passion and dedication to the cause that I am beginning to face. As there are so many wonderful entries, I could only read certain threads, but one stood out. You spoke about a buzz you recieved from putting a pound in a charity box. This made me smile and the next time the pangs to gamble arrise, instead of putting 20 £20 notes into a FOBT, I will put that pound into the nearest box and remember that their are actually more important things than the selfishness of the gambling world. Thank you for your diary it provides the inspiration that us beginners need. I wish you all the best with your move and hope you find a wonderful place!!!!
Beezer
Hi f,
Moving soon, how exciting for you both. If you want to check your credit history you can have a free trial...30 days on equifax or experian. You may not need it now that you have a mortgage approved but just a thought.
Love from Jas xx

Good to see exciting times ahead freda..a little time ago you wouldve gambled had the stress off being knocked back got to you..your right walk away if people drag you down...that happened to me last night so i walked back to my flat to defuse situation..however today is another day ??...anyways have you noticed your a bit like me and posting less about gambling these days which can only be positive..your a different person since you gave hubby your cards..,happy days 🙂 we can do this 😉
Hi f,
Great news with the mortgage, I thought that other lender seemed a bit harsh. Surrounding yourself with positive people certainly helps your outlook, it does mine.
Good work keep up you must!! (Yoda just told me to tell you) 🙂
Stay Strong
Steve
thanks to seano, beezer, jas, ands, winning post and yorkie for your posts. it helps keep me motivated and connected.
I can tell Ive not been posting much, because there is a long list of thank yous! Ive been a bit run down , and just not in the mood for posting, but im going to have a proper catchup and posting frenzy tomorrow 🙂
Nothing to report really, we are waiting to see the survey for the new flat, and get the mortgage app processed. All is looking on course so far though.
No gambling for me, which is great. Im coming up for my 5th week now, the no debit card policy is working a treat. I cant do much damage with £20 or less in my pocket.
Anyways, thanks again for all the support and I will be swinging by with my musings very soon.
Morning Freda,
Thanks for your support as usual 🙂 Very much appreciated you know. I haven't said which degree course i am doing as I may be identified on here...you never know who is reading. I want to go into probation or social work so that may give you a clue.
Seems you are in a calm place right at this moment which is good to see. Hope the survey is ok.
Love from Jas xx
