Thanks for the words guys all good advice and taken on board. My positivity of yesterday lasted about as long as until I got to work where we were told of yet more massive pay cuts. I could just about manage to service my debts on current wage but when these cuts come in no chance. Basically I need to find a new job and very quickly or god knows how this is going to end up. Was really gutted when given the news and my first thought was f#$k it am going to have a bet, thankfully batted that aside after seeing the irony that if it wasn't for betting I wouldn't need to look for another job.

worrying that at the first sign of trouble my default was gambling (though no surprising) but positive I suppose that I didn't give in because a few months ago I definitely would have.

Thanks for the support as always. Another clear weekend, so fed up of this mess I will not be gambling anytime soon to make it worse

Last bet 12/07/14. Only way out of this is if I can still say that in two years time. In reality I can never gamble again.

This is spookily similar to my life, job, wife, son and one on the way too. When are you expecting baby 2? We are 19th Nov... We both need to be in a better place for everyone and for ourselves too.

I wonder if like me you gambled on your wedding day, during labour at the hospital. I'd be really interested to know?

I feel recovery is a way away but it has to come or else I'll lose everything.

Hope to hear back from you

Thanks Suzanne yes I never thought I'd be capable of doing 55 days but it doesn't feel that long - the memories of my last final binge are still fresh but that's probably a good thing.

I don't feel better but I dont think I deserve to yet - I think once the mess starts to clear I may get some clarity and start to feel positive but for now the best I can do is abstain and not make things worse.

Hi mark I can see where you are coming from in the fact you dont feel better yet but that will all come.i cant believe two guys are 56 days off a bet when not so long ago we would have been lucky to stay 56 mins off a bet.keep it up mate and well will defo have one

of our best christmas,s for years.i know its hard but we have to try and forget the damage done and look forward to the future with our families,we have emotionally battered them enough.i have found this weekend easy with all club football off but will get my guard ready for next week.take care mate keep the chin up and clock the days up.;-)
