Really really wanted to share it with you all , like something amazing happens to you , you are pretty shell shocked by it , but feel the need to share it with those nearest and dearest. I regard many on this site as one of those .

Well as you know I work for a very large company . With thousands and thousands of employees . Both in this country and abroad .

100 have been chosen through a nomination process to attend a very special function bit like the oscars for making an outstanding contribution to the company .

I am one of the hundred . o*g .............

Never saw that one coming , seriously in shock this morning .........

Blondie , yep will involve an oscar outfit , shoes bags ball gown , face lift , lypo suction ,implants , blardy blar blar ..lol

My sister is working on my acceptance speech , in case I do actually win the equivalent of an Oscar . Maybe it would go something like this ........

I would like to thank my family , my higher power and all my gamcare buddies . ( no best not my anonymity would be a thing of past , don't you He he )

This all takes place later in the year , by then maybe I will of got my head round it .

So today , zoomed into the fast lane , not considering having a bet as a way of congratulation but will not say no to chocy biscuit.

Feet just slightly off the floor today .

As CGs we have spent so many years thinking we were s***t that we disbelieve we are good people , or good at our jobs , always setting the bar higher and higher for ourselves , but never acknowledging how great we are . That does not just go for me , it goes to you all .

So today my dear dear friends , instead of writing on my thread , well done shiny , or you deserve it . Take that time to congratulate yourselves , for coming to this site , for fighting the good fight and showing a strength and determination that a lot of normal people do not have. Start believing in yourself , just for today. Just for me

Congrats on your call up to the big time. I read once that people who go to the Oscars with a chance of winning an award are often given lots of expensive free stuff. Like a goody bag for the rich and famous. Usually there will be Gucci watches and such like. So just in case you do get some stuff just remember your big pal Tomso was the first to congratulate you.

My day ..

Went out tonight 3 rd time since returning from my holiday . Which to most people would mean nought but for someone who has isolated herself from the world for almost 8 years it's a big step forward .

OH and friends were playing a charity football match , at what has become my husbands new local . Never been there before but felt maybe I should make the effort and show my face . This was at the local footy club . ( please note I have no interest in football. Or sport at all ) but alot of the wives were going so yep I went . At one point I was sitting in the corner with my iPad reading my book , but hay one step at a time

Saw the girls and we arranged another night out to a Greek night , when we will all go out together again bout 12 of us and my husband does not appear to be married to the scarlet pimpimel .lol

And today I found a jewellery box under my pillow, it contained a beautiful pair of drop diamontei earrings , when I asked why , cause it aint my birthday or anniversary or anything. He said well to wear at your 100 people thing . Which for a guy who finds it hard to buy so much as a bunch of flowers for valentines today was well honestly amazing.

So what do I think about this turn of events over the last few days .

I keep saying and I am sorry to be boring lol

Recovery is about changing you, not just giving up having a bet. Challenging yourself to improve your life . Going out 3 times in a week is a first for me probs 15 years in fact tonight's really had to push myself. Cause like I said footy aint my thing . But it was ok and I think my husband was made up that for once he had his wife at his side so to speak

Everyday on here I see people moving forward. Taking on challenges , be it marathons , new jobs, giving up smoking, to name just a few. To me this is what we need to do to stay in recovery long term , and improve our lives from the ground roots . To all those people that are getting it. I applaud you and thank you cause every day you inspire me to do the same .
