Hi lovely man, make a right pair:)) I have lost the plot, (too much digging on my behalf) and you a muttering depressive (I don't think) listen we are gamble free and that is what counts, to gamble would make us feel and act worse.

Try and chill, and feel proud thst you are on 140 amazing days of being free from gambling.

Take care

Day 143 with not a penny gambled on any form of gambling.

Ive just looked at my emails to see that my mate has defaulted on his pay day loans (he used my email address and know how, cos he doesn't do computers). In retrospect I shouldn't have helped really, cos he hates his job and he's taken a week off work and its no surprise that he's gone into the bookmakers. But at the end of the day its his choice, just like its been my choice when ive done similar things in the past.

This is the challenge of recovery isn't. When things aren't going so well BUT you still don't gamble.

Am feeling strong today, wild horses wouldn't lead me to gamble. I looked out the window and saw the rain sheeting down and consequently didn't respond to the texts about work. Ive done 4 days this week, thats enuff, well enuff in challenging needs work anyway.

A pottering about day today, get me haircut and probably go for a swim and sauna. Meeting mate later for a quick pint. Sounds ok doesn't it.

Thanks for listening... S.A 🙂

Day 144 gambling free

There's probably been worse Sandra lol... I did listen to it all of it...honest 😉

I am hungover today. Went out with old work collegue and a fair few beers consumed. A nice enough evening.

Woke up this morning with calls from another mate. he's in financial problems cos his car broke down and he had to pay all his money out to get it towed etc etc and could I lend him £30 for food till he gets paid. To be honest on this occasion I do believe him (though I might be wrong) and he's never not paid me back, but gambling of course is always in the background. Us compulsive gamblers tend not to have any savings for a rainy day do we?? Thats certainly been the case for me over the years and most certainly for my friend.

I cycled over with the money feeling quite cheery (despite hangover) and happy that for once it wasn't me in the s**t.

Life goes on...

thanks for listening.. S.A

What a guy. Nice thing to do. I too had too many last night. I'm in the why not spend(moderately). Enjoying good times rather than give it away to bookies. Keep on SA happy Saturday

Be honest and admit you got that glow stick out and had a little rave too SA 😀

Hope you're feeling better today. Not sure if it's good thing, but i see our recoveries has very similar pattern. As Dan said, we need to live "recovery" and not just abstain.we seem to struggle to move on with ourselves....but that's nothing that cannot be sorted out huh, we only need to keep making those steps forward and work towards change in our lives. I'm up for it - are you?

See you at job centre for the starters ☺ i know we both can have jobs not as stressful as they are now...and that would be just a new start for the new era huh!

Blabbing on lol...
Wish you well dear SA and walking aside you all the way.

Have a good Sunday and stay safe

You babble away Sandra. I like your babbling!! 🙂 😉

Your sure right about the stressful job thing. I never seem to have got the job thing quite right. Am up for change.

Am just back from a 12 miler. The last 2 miles being up hill. Blumin killed me it did and ruined my stats lol but I feel good for having gone. Its nice that it wasn't cold or windy.

No desire to gamble. I am a bit stressed about money, cos I work less hours, but I know psychologically it is better for me. My stress levels are sure to go up come tomorrow. Gambling never solved anything did it?... absolutely nothing, it never solved anything ever, not once. It just led to the emptying of my bank account and personal anguish, pain and misery. Nuff said.

Thanks for listening... S.A

& there you go SA is the reason why I read your diary, ie the post you've just sent me.

I see the honesty, the fears, some times resentment but still the steely determination in the man behind the SA. Something he probably doesn't embrace enough in himself ..

Tomorrow will come soon enough, so for today just enjoy..

ps.... I just wanted to add, re your post and my referral to this forum being a compulsion I do agree with what you said but it also comes to big thing I always hear.. . Balance... Need that line between living and cyber world..
