I am stronger than I thought!

Not really felt like posting much l8ly!

I had a gr8 day yest went ice skating with my friends on the outdoor ice rink... fell over lots tho 🙂

Then me and my bf had a look round the shops, he pressed a singing santa and Maddison loved it she could not stop smiling.... So we bought it... She likes it being pressed loads it is driving me mad lol.... ah well it makes her happy and thats all that matters!

Yest afternoon my mum watch Maddison and me and my bf went 2 watch skyfall it was a good film... Nice 2 just get 2 spend some time 2gether!

Then last nite I did something I have not done in a long time... I went out with my friends at 11 and in2 a club in town.... I drank soooo much and I am feeling rough this morning... Maddison had me up at 8... But I had fun!

I am still gamble free and just over a wk away from my own personal target... I know I need 2 stay strong... Fingers crossed!

I am having a few strong urges atm so thought I would have a rant on my diary!

I was having a lazy day until one of my friends called me she had put £400 into a £70 Jp machine... She was in a rite mess she wanted me 2 lend her some money so she could pay her rent and her parents would not find out!

So I went over 2 the pub 2 meet her and lend her some money, but now it is in my head that the machine is gonna pay out and the urge 2 gamble is strong. I am thinking I can spend x amt.... I don't wanna mess up again... I hope I can stay strong.

I thought I would catch up on a few diaries as a distraction hopefully that may help. My bf has took Maddison round 2 his brothers so I have 2 keep busy!

You know Hun was just thinking unlike some what a smart person you are . Soon as you think hay could be putting myself in danger you are straight on this site .

I think hearing the desperation of your mate needing to borrow money and lying to her family , the craziness of pitting 400 in a 70 jackpot machine must make you think why would I go back there .

Also by lending her money , which I am assuming you did , if you are anything like me , its like thinking of a way to replace it . I still to this day get my biggest urges when I have paid for something , like my holiday .

You and I know it's just the crazy addiction , trying to temp us back in .

Do not let sweetheart , be proud of how far you have come , I will be thinking about you , I know you can do this and also know believe me that you will feel proud of yourself in the morning . Just like I will feel proud of you .

Just seen your post and wondering if your bf is back now...

If not just keep posting and don't be afraid to type whatever you want as often as you want...does'nt matter how many times you post as if those urges get strong just go to any lengths to keep them away....

All here for you and Shinys right in what she says...

When I used to go to meetings one lady shared that she had such urges for drink one time that she rang a friend who kept her talking deliberately on the phone til the off licence and pubs shut.

I'm glad you enjoyed the weekend.

I too had a day Friday where I was getting strong urges but we have built up a big barrier to fight them hopefully, I find that throwing myself in to the running helps me combat the urges at times, when I'm not running though I tend to pick up the phone go through numbers and choose someone I haven't spoke to in ages and that works for me.

I too had too many fruit ciders this weekend and why shouldn't we enjoy ourselves, we worked all week and also passed another week in this rollercoaster ride

Me too hope you managed to wrestle that beast and walk away with your head held high... Just think of that weekend you just had, it most likely would not have happened if you still had that frame of mind.

Sounds like you had fun ice skating and your night out.

I feel very proud of you for not giving in when your friend had put that money into the machine and you did the right thing coming on here. The urges are so terrible that they stop us from thinking straight or being rational...

Hang in there babe, your doing really well and whatever happens, don't stop coming on here. From the amount of replies you always get, you can see you are well supported, we will never judge you Charlotte.

You are also so very supportive to others too and certainly from my perspective, I have appreciated every post on my diary from you.

Hope your doing well mate, just had a catch up with your diary, hope you managed to stay strong and those urges came to nothing.

You know by chasing that money will only end up losing we can't win!

Was really good to have a good catch up on Friday I will try getting on a bit more.

Keep going mate I know it's not easy but were getting there there is a light t the end of the tunnel!
