I have been gambling for over 8 years now and realise that I have no option but to stop! It isn't even about the money anymore, in the beginning I would win £50 and take it out, now I can win up to £700 and play the whole lot out and then beat myself up about what I could have done with the money. I gamble online and on the fruit machines and will find it really difficult to go into town without going into one of my haunts but realise that while I am gambling I'm taking away money I could be using for my family! I am so glad I found this forum and will be coming on here daily in the hope of finally overcoming my addiction

Welcome to this site and well done for making your first steps forward and admitting you have a problem. Loads of support here, we are all the same and understand each other. Stay close by to your diary, record your days or just read other diaries, they all have a story to tell.
Recovery is bespoke and you will find your way to the better future. I would suggest to get yourself excluded from all the sites, blocks really helps in this recovery, there is a free blocker called K9 I use it myself and it's huge help if urges kicks in or on a low days (u only need t ask someone you trust to put password in for you).

your not alone weve all been there , keep strong keep coming on this site and like others have said put the blocks in place self exclude ect... i have destroyed my debit card a struggle without it, but worth it, as it takes away any temptation to pick it up and use those card details to enter them into a site, you will beat this together we will
