Gratitude
Only a short topic that I wanted to talk about today but one that is so important to me.
When I started the 12 steps my sponsor said amongst other morning and evening routine suggestions that I need to write a gratitude list of ten things I'm grateful for and send them to him every day..
My first thought was, what have I got to be grateful for. No money, no job, friends had become enemies and so had family. I had nothing
My second thought was, and writing out ten things is going to stop me gambling ? Seriously ?
Yet again, and I really mean again, Stuart's thinking that got him here was wrong.
So, I started writing my gratitude lists. Amazingly they change each day and started with material things but moved onto much more than that. Free things in life, feelings, family, shelter, water and much more. It's an amazing way alongside meditation to start the day with a clear head and joy.Â
Care to share any gratitude of your own ?
A Monk Once Said... 1. Control your tongue, and you
control half your problems. 2.Desire is a cage that looks
like freedom. 3.The quieter you become, the
more you hear. 4. True wealth is measured in
peace, not in gold. 5. Anger burns the one who
holds it, not the one it's thrown 6.Happiness is not found — it's created through small daily
choices.
