I think I'm onto day 70 now. Today has been a nice chilled out bank holiday Monday. I've started on my new blu ray collection which were bday gifts from accumulated amazon vouchers 🙂 it's Harry potter to begin with ('cos I am that sad hahahahaaa).

I began today emailing estate agents, well spamming them really! Desperately searching for a half decent place to live. So far it seems luck as to weather you get a nice place at a reasonable price and are lucky enough to view it and commit to leasing before someone else gets in there first!

I've never flat/house hunted before, and this past week has been an eye opener. I was so optimistic to begin with, having many viewings booked in. Then one by one they were cancelled due to the places having already been let. Th couple I have seen were very over priced shoe boxes. One bed roomed flats which really should be listed as studio apartments. One was even riddled with damp for 500 per month?! I've seen houses advertised cheaper! It was all quite disheartening. I had such an urge to gamble. My mind was telling me, if only I had that big win and could pay off debts and afford a deposit for a mortgage, or even be able to buy somewhere outright.

Crazy unrealistic dreams, I know. But I had a bit of a mental battle while feeling down and wanting to gamble what little I have in the hope of something more.

Ah, money. They say it won't make you happy, but I'm positive it'd make life easier and more enjoyable! Lol.

I didn't cave, I reminded myself of the misery gambling brings me and kept at least one foot firmly in reality. Phew. God knows how awful a bank holiday it would have been had I caved! Pleased I didn't go there 🙂

As I say, I spent today spamming estate agents, so hopefully we will find something nice enough and affordable enough soon. Fingers crossed!

Day 77

Spent the weekend doing house and flat viewings. Saw a lovely large two bed apartment, that was actually affordable!!

I've been filling out paperwork today, need to pass the credit and reference checks first, but fingers crossed I will be signing the lease soon 🙂

So excited. I'm rather old to only just be getting my first home, but I'm still very happy and excited.

I think my parents are excited and relieved too! They're planning on what to do with the extra space already lol.

Just a quick post before I head off to work...

I passed the reference checks last week for the flat. Yeay! Now I'm just waiting to hear back from the landlord to get a date. #excitingtimes!

Day 91

A few minor gambling thoughts over the last week. Usually when I see ads for sites I used to play on a lot. An inkling of missing it, but I'm confident I can steer clear.

I've got better things to focus on. I get the keys to he flat a week on Friday - been busy beginning to pack and attain a little order to my things ready for the move.

I'm excited, nervous,happy and scared all at once! 😀

Day 98.... Almost at the 100 day milestone!!!

I'm all packed ready for the move. Really can't wait to be all done and settled!!

Off to the dentist today. Boooring! 😀

Day 113 (I think!)

Sorry it's been a while since I last checked in. Understandably I've been really busy with sorting out and moving into this new flat.

We've just about gotten on top of everything and feel almost settled in. It's been a very busy two weeks. My partner has been a star pulling a few all nighters to get the place ready ASAP. I'm so sick of scrubbing things, I never want to clean anything ever again haha!

Apart from feeling tired and rather sleep deprived I'm feeling well and happy in myself. I've been way too busy to have had any thoughts of gambling. Things are going better than the ever have before in regards to kicking the habit. I hope I'm around to celebrate the 200 day mark 🙂

Day 122.

Feeling good.

Got our flat warming drinks/dinner to look forward to on Monday. I'm actually feeling settled, and content with life at the moment - something I've not felt (if ever!) for years. So happy things are going well 🙂 🙂

Day 148... Just had a bit of a moan about needing to look for new work and being upset about being money driven, not being able to consider some jobs because they wouldn't enable me to pay my stupid debts... But my ipad froze and I lost all my text before I could post. Really can't be bothered to retype it, so this will do :o)

Feeling slightly down. Winter blues maybe.
