Meetings with remarkable men (1979) Starring Terence Stamp

I apologise if the film title for this topic sounds gender specific but it's the name of the film.

I did have a topic planned for today but I'm going to move it on after what happened in the last 24 hours.

I recognise that meetings in recovery aren't for everyone. I also know that it takes time to find your tribe. I've been to a couple of rooms which I wouldn't go back to as they weren't the right fit for me.

Last night I went to an incredible GA meeting. One that I go to each week but it's got more powerful each week with every honesty share. The vulnerability in that room is amazing and it's impossible to come away without taking a lot from it as well as being uplifted. The room is more than people I see once or twice per week. It's more than friends who listen and don't judge. It's family.

So I got back home late and had a bite to eat. Then I tried to stay up for the Modern Meeting at 1am. I just knew that the topic would spark off some powerful shares and I don't know why I didn't go first. I'm not a great sharer but I do so at every meeting from my heart. After hearing some of the most incredible heart warming shares, I had to put my hand up and shared. It wasn't a topic I had a great deal to say about but I wanted to be part of the meeting, be involved and not only share what was on my mind but to give to the meeting.

I have asked myself where would I be without meetings. I would rather not answer that
