Hows life going? its great you get to do that overtime, it means a little bit more help. If I had the chance I would do extra jobs to get some more money.

thanks unlucky,blues,seano and s.a.....not much to report gamblewise....day off today on this miserable wet autumnal tuesday and as you know boredom and time on hands can be a lethal combination so ive spent the afternoon reading and sourcing other diaries that have disappeared down the pages...anything to beat them gambling demons....on afternoon turns for the rest of week so wont get chance to see kids 🙁 anyways today i did not bet tomorrow i wont bet,we can do this folks 😉

Popped into work for 40 mins as my daughter is at dance class - hip hopp!

So i thought i'd check up on some diaries!

Fair play for putting Muppetys diary up on page one.Sad story that one, but a good indication for gamblers that when you come honest with your love ones its best to lay everything on the table....not just small white lies!

Really hope alls well with her and her family.

The weather is miserable isn't it Winningpost? It will be this time of year now that we will all have plenty of time to reflect, look back and think about things. But, you are doing the right thing by reading and keeping your mind occupied - good for you! Because the demons are so crafty and dangerous we need to keep them at bay at all costs.

Sorry to hear you won't get to see the kids though mate. I am sure that would have brightened up your day big time. Fingers crossed you get to see them very soon.

Thanks for the continued support, and I sincerely hope you get to see more of your kids someday. Stay strong my friend, time is a fantastic healer and you are winning this battle.

Good comment re: your fading betting slip, I hope that betting slip is with you until its just a blank piece of paper because that means that you wont have placed a bet.

I try to think logically about what we actually did and find it helps me. We used to stand in a room, mostly full of strangers going about their own business, writing on pieces of paper, watching TV and handing over more money than we could afford. When we picked a winner, we would be looking how to double, treble that money by continuing to stand in the same room, writing on more pieces of paper until reality hit as we always wlaked away with NOTHING. I used to speak to people in there, but never knew anyones name. Same faces, and in my opinion, it was relatively easy to spot the people either with/potential to have, a gambling problem. Not sure what your betting pattern was, but I used to bet on every race and it would kill me if I missed one as I would be so bored watching it waiting for the next one to start - MADNESS my friend.

Law of averages says that if you bet on every race, you will end up penniless. Funny thing is my most vivid memory is when I won big - vague memories of losing even though it happened 000's of times - CRAZY

Hope you are well mate and feeling more chipper. This time of year is always a bit depressing - I used to say that the only good things about the winter were NH racing and skiing! Now I have kids and a busy job and am recovering CG I have to say the only good thing about winter is that summer follows!

Thanks for your message and for bumping up my diary! Although there is not much reading on it these days as I don't often post. I'm so busy these days doing non gambling stuff - which is a good thing.

I hate the thought of winter too, but I'm looking out of my window and the trees are looking amazing just now - Always a positive in everything 🙂

with many thanks to viggo,mickyd,jas (yes still on my moby 😉 lol),blues,seano,t a g (loved my NH as well especially the points),psowm and lili though not sure aboot beautiful trees for me at this time o year lol....just checking in really,no urges,in fact feel quite strong at minute though no doubts that could EASILY change....still not good relationship wise but i just cant go back punting...only other day was told to go away and have a bet so obviously trust is absolutely MILES away...never mind one day the trust maybe there !! then again ???? i stated to t a g that i loved the NH game(used to share stories wi lyin eyes all good of course wi no gambles mentioned)…once in councelling i said i loved it for the fresh air only to be shot down in flames as you can get fresh air walking beaches for nowt...very true and thats a statement sticking with me...councelling does help folks....bit of a rant today sorry but today i wont bet tomorrow i wont bet we can do this my friends 😉

I have to be honest and say i winced when i read on your diary that you were told to "go and have a gamble" - ouch !!

You ARE a very very strong person wp, your journey so far has been rough (to say the least) - but you just keep on going - and i repect that my friend, if i had been in your shoes i would probably have crumbled by now - i take off my hat, and any other appropriate article of clothing to you !!

You inspire a lot of people on the forum wp, myself included, thank you.

Agree with tommi there wp you are a very strong person.Listen mate about that comment your ex made(why don't u just go gamble)...Trust...its a hard thing to gain.....don't let that comment get to you mate.Not so long ago my mother inlaw asked me do i still gamble?

Even tough she knows i am in a much better place now....i know it will take alot more time for her to fully accept i've stopped!
