Day 9 - 08/01/17 to Day 12 - 11/01/18

Hello again diary. What a really busy week I have had at work, hence why I haven't been able to post daily progress.

Enjoyed hitting my first little milestone of 10 days GF. Still feeling very strong and in a great place right now. I'm not going to lie I've had a few urges here and there but they have been forgotted about sharpish.

Only one more day of work tomorrow then off for the weekend. It's my brothers birthday tomorrow and my mum and his wife are holding a little surprise party for him which will be fun. Looking forward to catching up with my family and spending some time with my wife.

The gym has been going very well too which I aim to keep up. I've managed to lose a few pounds since starting this diary which is good going so I suppose it's been a great little tracker in that sense too. When I started 12 days ago I tipped the scales at 16 st 1 lb and I'm currently 15 st 9 lb.

I fancy changing my fitness plan now that I've lost a little blubber to a more intensive plan. Can't wait to see what the progress brings.

Scott.

Day 13 12/01/18 - Day 17 16/01/18

Hello diary, another few busy days but I'm proud to say that I'm still going strong being gamble free.

It has been bizarre as there hasn't been any major urges yet. I'm trying my best to stay really positive and I feel like I have a new lease of life.

I headed over to my mum's house on Friday as she was hosting a birthday party for my older brother. I wasn't going to have a drink as I am on my health kick but that soon changed and I really enjoyed myself. Saturday was good to just chill out but I missed my golf. The wife treated me to dinner and a few drinks at a local restaraunt that night too which was lovely of her.

Early rise on Sunday for a round of golf at a course that I have never played before. It was a winter competition and I really enjoyed the round. Back to back birdies on two short par fours made the round memorable. I'm absolutely loving my golf at the moment and can't wait for the new season to start in April. I also feel like my game is coming on a treat.

I didn't get to run at the weekend which I felt annoyed at but I got straight back on it on Monday and Tuesday.

The healthy eating is also going great. I placed an order with Muscle Food and received a discounted offer on a large lean meat hamper which arrived on Monday. It really is great value and I would recommend to anyone. The quality of the meat is great and very reasonably priced.

Just chilling in front of the MacBook and will have a little cup of tea soon before heading to bed.

Day 18 - 17/01/18

Another day as a winner by being gamble free.

Just sitting down with a coffee and having a browse through the diary of others and some comments on my own.

Ineffable, thank you so much for your lovely kind words and for taking the time to read my diary. I've got to the stage of feeling very proud when I look back at my posts. It really does tell a story through time. There are some times that I feel low but all it takes is a read through my previous entries and I can actually see how successful it has been eliminating gambling from my life.

I feel very content at this present time, albeit I don't have a great deal of money, but I know it is me who can change this.

If anyone was to ask me what has changed you most about being 18 days gamble free I would have to tell them that I have learned to look after myself more. I used to look at myself and not really care about being unkempt looking etc. I have came to terms that life is more than this and we first and fore most need to look out for ourselves. Another lesson I have learned is that exercise makes you feel great and think clearly.

I'm currently sitting on top of my bed with a cup of coffee and typing away on the MacBook. I plan to hit the gym in an hours time and then even go for a swim afterwards. The weather isn't too great here which is the only downfall.

As for my incentives I mentioned in a previous post, I will work out my budget for payday next week and see if I can afford my aftershave and maybe even the wallet I have seen. The trainers can wait at the moment.

Have a lovely night folks.

Scott.

Day 19 18/01/18 - Day 23 22/01/18

Hello Diary.

I've had a busy weekend keeping gamble free. Still keeping my fitness up and started a new fat burning programme along with my marathon training. Losing weight gradually and getting fitter at the same time.

I took Sunday off doing any excerise but walked for 6 miles with the wife. It as enjoyable.

No real urge to gamble and I'm still in a strong zone with everything. It's payday on Friday which will be a test but I know I can do it and abstain from gamblng.

I'm backshift today so just going to get ready for work. Have a good one folks.

Scott.

Day 24 23/01/18 - Day 31 30/01/18

Hello diary. I've been a busy boy so not been able to post regularly. The main thing is I have remained gamble free.

It was payday on Friday and I was worried over the weekend that I may dabble with gambling but that wasn't the case. I treated myself to the aftershave that I wanted so that's a little reward ticked off the list for this month.

I had a great weekend spending time with the wife and some of my family. Still keeping the fitness and healthy eating going which I am proud of.

Work has been stressful but there is always phases where it does that. It will all calm down soon I'm sure.

Just chilling tonight and will have a cuppa soon before bed. I'm so proud of where I am just now and the fact that I don't have gambling in my life.

Day 32 31/01/18 - Day 38 06/02/18

Hello diary. Positing hasn't been as frequent as I would have liked but I am still gamble free.

Life is good at the moment. I've managed to get myself on track and sticking to a strict routine. I find this helps occupy my time which prevents me from gambling.

I have spent some great time with my wife over the weekend and played some golf too. The marathon training is going well and the diet is on track. I'm managing to save a little money but my quality of life is so much better at the moment. The savings will come throughout time.

Hoping to get a holiday booked soon also.

Sitting chilling watching the football tonight.

Scott x
