Hi every one fort I would start a diary on here a d try to update each weekÂ
Â
My story so far
I was addicted to fobts for over 15 yearsÂ
In 2023 I realised I have to stop so I joined gamcare and put some blocks in place I lasted 6 months then gambled again back to day 1 lasted few months and again gambled lasted 6 months again then gambled that was the last time I gambled a d got the really blocks in place and figured my self out and triggers as in the end I was not playing to win money I was just chasing the rush if the jackpot or max bonus spins I would never collect or stop untill I was skint I learned that my addiction was caused by gambling every day for years and my brain needed that hit all the time as the maths behind the machaines will tell you you will lose over time and to win multiple jackpots is not going to happen but even if I did gamble today and win 10 jackpots that would not even come any where close to my losses but if I gambled and lost money it would effect my life in a big way it's hard to just stop and you get tested and I have even planned a gambling trip in my head before but did go threw with it thankfully but there is a life after gambling and it is wonderfully you just need to get figure out your triggers and plan to avoid them full any spare time with good and mindful things and with time your brain will slowly reprograme it's self to. Normal things and you will start to get natural dopamine from not gambling but from enjoying family days out treating your self to nice things even going for a walk Â

Well it's been 1 week since I started my diaryÂ
And another week gamble freeÂ
Been doing a lot of googling and web browsing about the new gambling tax hike and hopefully the government increase the tax to 50% not nice for people to lose there jobs but would be nice for betting shops to disappear from the towns the betting companies are saying if it goes any where near 35% that will close there shops I my self thinks thay are just scaremongering but only time will tell apart from that just busy with work getting ready for Xmas and enjoying the gamble free lifeÂ
Â
Take care every oneÂ
Hi every one hope every one is doing okÂ

Im with u on the fobt the crazy thing was even though when the stakes got cut down i was lossing less per session however the concequences was the same has i was still lossing similar amouts coming on here and reading forums i learnt u can put pur 4/5 times the jackpot and still not get anything so even at £2 they are not far off the level of £100 stakes it completely criminal they allowed to be able to do this so this rtp means nothing and they can get away with this as an addict u cant simply stop
Hi Henry,
Â
My name is Hannah, and I am a new Volunteer Peer Supporter for GamCare. I just wanted to say that I think that a diary is a really wonderful idea and I for one will be following your journey. I volunteer because I heavily supported my husband through abstaining from gambling so I think following your journey in your diary would be a really great extra insight for people like myself.Â
Â
Well done on everything you have achieved so far.Â
Â
Take care,
