Hi everyone, obviously new to this. I've gambled for years smaller amounts but only started betting higher stakes in the last year. I got extremely lucky a few months ago when i had bet a few thousand pounds and kept depositing and betting 1k on red or black to get my winnings back. I can only imagine how I would feel if I had lost it all. I'm currently in that situation right now on a smaller scale and have lost £1,800. Lucky I stopped when I did. I've had the urge to try and win this back but I know it wont end well after reading other posts on here. Ive self excluded from all betting sites and have just started this to make sure I stick with it. Any comments or stories, please share them and we can help each other get through this together! Last bet: 17th March 2018

Hope you stop right now before you lose a lot like me and the others. Be very careful on relapses. Good luck.

Hi YoungSkiddy

Welcome to the GamCare forum. Well done for taking the step to come here and post regularly. It's good that you've put some blocks in place. If you'd like any more support you're welcome to give us a call on the HelpLine 0808 8020 133, or chat to us on the NetLine.

Since you've said you intend to use this thread as your 'Personal log', I've moved it to the Recovery Diaries section.

Best wishes for your continued recovery!

Went over a week now without even thinking about gambling. Just keep thinking and adding up how long it will take me to earn my losses back at work.

Another thing is, my mum and dad kind of know what i had so now its dropped by a few grand and im not sure how to deflect if they ask...

Your losses are gone now mate, what is in your savings balance is now what you have, be happy that you are in a better position than most of us and have money still.

Don’t think of them as losses, now is the starting point and if you do get back to that figure with hard work then be proud. There’s nothing proud in sitting at a casino and gambling even when you win.

Good luck and keep on track.

Hi guys, just got back from working away for a week and I'm almost back to where i started money wise. Still wanna keep updated though.

No thoughts of gambling, it usually happens when I've had a drink, it's like I lose the power to control it. But I'm going strong.

Going to set up savings account that I cannot access and keep saving as I do.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and moving on. Hopefully I can help you? Just let me know...

Hi guys, been a while. Still havent gambled and feel comfortable with it to be honest.

Always see those adverts on the tv right enough, and they make me cringe slightly. Its constant! One after another during the football.

Keeping my mind busy with work and projects at home. Hope everyone else is well.
