A few caveats here before explaining the topic. Firstly, the topic just ties in with this great films title. I am not belittling any content from the film or comparing it to what's below. Secondly, I've only ever heard one person mention this topic and that was a couple of months ago so I have no idea whether it's an actual thing in recovery and am not suggesting it will be of any use to anyone but helped me.
So, we are moving house and packing at the moment. In my first couple of weeks of recovery I was in a really bad place. I was struggling. When I was packing I found some sheets that I wrote out in those first two weeks and I found my disaster list (hence the film title). I had the blocks in place but knew nothing about recovery and needed to learn. For that moment in time, that disaster list was certainly no comfort blanket of support but was a reminder that the future daylight must be better than returning to the fog. I wrote a list of everything that would happen if I went back to gambling.
