Hi lee I feel your pain iv also lost a lot of money from this horrible game, and even tho we know we will lose it just keeps luring us back, that urge is soo strong and iv given into it on so many times.

Iv managed to stop for 4 days now and the days seem to be lasting forever, do you gambling online or in the bookies, I found self excluding my self from various bookies helped me a lot so you may want to try that.

Also mabey handing your money to one of your loved ones to look affter would also help.

It will take a lot of willpower but you keep telling yourself that your only lineing the bookies pockets and think of how happier your life will be with out this evil game.

hi mate, even when i win i just go back in the next day and put it all back in, and any other money i have, yeah i have thought about giving my money to a friend to look after but i think if i do that il never know if its me who really has control... i used to gamble alot when i had little money, alwys thought of it as an excuse because i wanted to win more of it, now i dont even need the money yet am putting it all in the roulette machines. yeah i gamble online also, its too easy, but ive band myself now on every site i can... and yeah ive self excluded in some bookies but i always end up finding one somewhere, i need to it be myself if you know what i mean... how much do you spend at 1 time when you go in the bookies?

Hey Lee,

Glad you've realised the issue and want to do something about it - finding yourself here says that you recognise it's a problem.

Just wanted to comment on your post about whether it would be you in control or not if you handed finances over.......the control comes from the handing over, because you know you can't control. 83 days ago I handed over my accounts to my mum (I'm 41 so it was a humbling experience), but I've not gambled since.....same as you FOBTs online and in the bookies - hundreds and hundreds at a time - read my diary for some of the numbers. I've never been more in control now.

I really hope you find your way fella - all recoveries are different and it's one day at a time.

Keep strong and keep looking forward.

Mr Brightside

hey lee ye self exlusion is the right thing to do , also I think if you can hand over your bank cards and cash that is a good thing to do , although to be honest I have not done that myself yet, but have self excluded from every online site possible, I get it with what you say about roulette its almost hipmotism , after a while and after loosing thousands and a lot of wasted time and all my savings and running a credit card bill up , I hated that d**n wheel but still couldn't help but go back to it , ive gone about 4 weeks in total before without this site and thought I beat it , until a week last Friday another £1000 kissed that goodbye that I didn't have to loose , ive only been gambling about 18 months in total but the amount of money I have lost on roulette is redicoules , I get the idea you want to know your not the only silly addicted person out there who has lost too much money to say the amount out loud, well I know it wont help your situation but it might make you feel your not on your own , to tell you I have lost at least £43,000 in under 18 months and 99% of it was on roulette online , its just sickening , BUT NO MORE , they have had all there getting out of me, I can do this and you can to , one more slip and my cousin she gets all my cards , keep it up one more day for both of us tomorrow without gambling

Hi lee I'm exactly the same my friend. That buzz from the roulette wheel is like no other but I have had suicidal thoughts I run up that much debt and got to the age if 36 and had nothing to my name, no wife kids house car anything all because of roulette. Gble free now for 19 months and I tell you mate it's the best things you will ever do kicking the habit. Don't think next time you have money oh a ten twenty won't hurt because it WILL bite you. Good luck lee
