Thanks for your continued support, you understand what this addiction does and where it can take you and you made it too a milestone as far as abstaining goes, you know its not as easy as just turning off a switch and there you go youve stopped gambling, you understand its a tricky puzzle to rid it from your life. Your a very nice person and you do put the ready brek glow around people, you too have a good weekend, whats left of it.

Thank you @smashed you are very kind! I've been through various s**t situations but they have seemed a breeze compared to not gambling. But the support from others has helped so much, so likewise my friend. Take care Sx

@Stephen thanks so much for thinking of me and your kind words, yes time does fly although I do feel like I'm in groundhog day sometimes lol but I guess no one's life is 24/7!excitement. Anyway would rather be ticking along steadily than living on an edge of guilt, self loathing and disappoint. Hope you'be had a good weekend too S x

Hello Sharon,

Thanks for your support on my diary, glad you got something out of it. I think although are stories share a lot in common there is something to be learnt from each person on here. Add all that knowledge together and we've got a fighting chance to tackle this. Hope you had a good weekend.

All the best.

Hi Sharon

Seems like only yesterday you clicked over a year gamble free, now you are nearly at day 400! Great stuff.

Keep going, life can't be exciting everyday, however we can guarantee it not to be debilitated by the shame of another losing streak.

Take care

Matt

Daye 400....am I glad to see you! The journey of recovery is and continues to be a rollercoaster and a half. Only bearable with the support and understanding of fellow forum dwellers who let me know I'm not alone. I genuinely thought I couldn't break the pattern and spent pretty much all my time in a state of worry and fear, Things still aren't super peachy but who's life is? But I do know in another 400 dsys (or sooner) I will be debtfree for the 1st time in approx 18 years, I had minimal debt before gambling which made it so much worse. I am proud of my progress and will continue to kick gambling. Every day we are GF we win, Happy Friday S x

Ps Stephen thank you a million times for being you x

Ineffable thank you 🙂

Congratulations Sharon on 400 days gamble free. I am so proud of you and really impressed with your courage, humour and fighting spirit. You have certainly inspired me and I won't be giving in again.

I loved reading in your last post that there is light at the end of the tunnel regarding your debt. It's a real ball & chain so I can imagine your feeling of euphoria when it is finally paid off. Remember though that patience is a virtue and everything comes to she who waits.

I look forward to following your journey over the coming months and wish you happy days, contentment and good times....stephen x x

Hello Sharon, hope your having a good week. Many thanks for the post on my diary, which brought a smile to my face and reminded me that simple pleasures can bring us the most fun and happiness.

I annoys me that good people can be so easily suckered into gambling addiction. We are deluded into thinking we are in a good place but end up traumatised, frightened and disgusted with ourselves. The utter madness of staring at a screen and getting excited about whether random spins might or might not give us a financial reward. Sorry about that ramble, I got carried away.

Pleased to say I am on a mission, to follow in your footsteps and climb the GamCare mountain. In time to come I will be able to look back at this defining moment in my life with gladness and appreciation. Take care my friend and thank you for all your support and the inspiration you have given me...stephen x

Morning Sharon. Hope your happy and well. Wishing you a great weekend.

I don't know if your aware of it but GamStop is now operating whereby people can exclude from all uk registered online bookmakers. I know you are a long long way from your last bet but I thought I would mention it anyway.

If you want to register for it, there are threads telling how to do it on the Overcoming Problem Gambling section on the forum. Mixer also covered it in a recent post on the Guru Challenge thread...stephen x

Thank you Sharon for posting on my Green Tara thread. I am hoping my twice daily meditations will give my recovery a boost. If it can distract my mind from gambling thoughts than it would be a massive help to me. If you see me float past your window cross legged on a carpet than you will know I've cracked it. Lol.

Glad your keeping well. I can understand your working long hours to improve your financial situation but please don't overdo it. You do need some Sharon time to let your hair down and relax. I remember in one of your posts you emphasised the need for patience in clearing debts and putting ones life in order.

It's good to read success stories on the diaries but there is plenty of sadness as well. It beggars belief the way addicts throw money at bookmakers like it was confetti at a wedding. Compulsive gamblers seem to lose all sense of reason when caught up in the gambling addiction. Sorry i'm rambling again. Take care my friend...stephen x

Day 417 I have been out of the loop recently mainly because I have been working 6 days a week but also been feeling a bit 'groundhog day' and wallowing in my own thoughts. But am still GF and after a period of procrastination have taken a leaf out of other diaries(thanks) and made a timeline to be debtfree, work less and have more if a life balance. Happy Bank Holiday Sx
