Hi Wayne, welcome to the Forum,

Well done for posting here - this is a very postive step, one which may push you in a more postive direction.

If you explain more about your situation and what led you to this point, then people here would be able to give you structured and in-depth advice.

Hope to hear more from you. The good thing is that you are only 27 - you have time to put everything right and create a whole new, gamble-free life for yourself.

Hi Wayne,

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for posting and requesting help from here too.

You’ve now taken the initial step, which if followed properly, would help you to overcome your gambling addiction.

Here in the forum, you’ll have a lot of support and encouragement, and would realise that there’s no need for you to suffer in isolation.

You’ll again learn from others’ experiences - people who have been in similar situation like you, and what they’ve done to overcome their gambling addiction. This is regarding strategies and boundaries that you can apply to your situation; having realise the similarities.

It’ll also create the awareness that there is hope for you to have your gambling addiction under control, and eventually overcome it if that is what you want. It would need dedication on your part; though, and you have to take it step by step.

Perhaps you may like to contact our free phone helpline on 0808 8020 133 for a 1 to1 discussion and advice about your addiction problem. 12 sessions of free counselling is also available to you when you contact the helpline; we’re open everyday from 8.00am to 12.00midnight.

Thanks again for contacting us, and please keep posting.

Best wishes,

Beatrice
