So I’ve wrote in here twice now. 1st time in sheer terror. I have a good job and work at an SC cleared site and had been called in for a financial review ... at that moment I was convinced I’d loose my job  . Trying ways of printing financial documents so that my gambling was hidden (you can’t by the way). No other option but to go be truthful and hope for the best. Went to the review was completely honest and amazingly the guy was patient, not judgemental and talked me through my past and how different my future could be. That was November.
Â
I told him I would stop join Gamstop etc (yet convincing myself il just have one last go).
Â
2nd time I wrote on here was New Year’s Day to start the beginning of my journey as ID JOINED GAMSTOP! I don’t know why it was that point I joined I new I should of done it years ago.
Now I’m 30 days gamble free. Everything is better outside of that awful gambling life.
Â
I no longer lie to get money which ever way I can. I don’t stay up until midnight because my limits reset at 12:01. My work has vastly improved because I’m not thinking about that fact I’ve blew my wages in 24 hours. I’m not reading stories on here to in some weird way make me feel better about not being on my own in my actions.
Â
It may only be 30 days but I have food in my fridge and money in the bank (even if small). I socialise more because I do have £10 to go and get coffee and cake, I don’t have days where I’ll spend all day trying to win back what I’ve got. And I got a letter saying I will keep my SC clearance (honesty is the best policy with that!)
Ive joined a gym, lost weight and feel healthier and happier.
The urges have gone because spending time with friends and family brings me far more happiness than online slots ever did.
Im a 29 year old female with a good job who doesn’t fit the stereotype of a gambling addict ... but I am one. If you read these knowing you need to do something but haven’t yet ... just do it 30 days have changed my life!
Â
Looking forward to the next GF Forever!
