Hi gazza, hope your feeling a bit better today. I know how it feels after a big loss. Write down how your feeling now  , and read it when you get urges.

Also get blocks like gamstop and gamban, if its online you gamble.

If its in casinos or bookies I think you can also get blocks but thats not something I'm 100% sure off, advisors here would be able to tell you more.

You can do it, stay strong and reach out for support. The chatrooms on here at 1pm and 8pm are good if you want to speak to other gamblers.

Take care, stace

Hi,

I’ve had my first counselling session this week which really helped, I only did online but sure you can self exclude from the bookies which is a must. Stay strong, we can do this. Not gone on the chat rooms yet but plan to soon which I’m sure will help

Hi gazza, only just seen your reply.. you can self exclude from bookies too..I dontbknow how, whether you go in and ask them to barr you or if there's another way, pretty sure there is.

Also have a read at others diaries on here, so many people weeks, months, years gamble free, really inspiring to read there journeys.

Wish you well

Stace

Just going to work and can't believe how good and positive I feel never really asked for help or prayed before but did at the weekend and feeling very strangely good just thought I'd put it down on record for my recovery

Hello @gazza8888,

Sorry to hear about your lapse, but very glad to hear you're feeling good and positive. It's great that you're continuing to update us on how you're feeling.

Just wanted to add to @stace's helpful suggestion about self excluding from bookies. You can do this by calling 0800 294 2060 - find out more at https://self-exclusion.co.uk/.

Now that you're updating regularly on your recovery, you might want to consider starting a new topic over in the Recovery Diaries section. There you can start a new thread to continue updating us on your recovery journey.

Look forward to following your progress,

Best wishes,

Deirdre
