Hello i'm a 36yr old man, Not sure where to start guess the beginning. I've always had a gamble since I turned 18 playing the slots in the bookies occasionally a few quid on the dogs never really was a problem as I always made sure I paid my rent, bills etc this went on for a few years without really causing any problems it was just a hobby sometimes I was up and sometimes I was down more the latter though. Fast forward to approx 8 years ago and the first time I started using the internet a friend of mine told me about a site called ********** where you can play live poker in real time for play money and real cash. First I started to play with play money but soon got bored and decided to make my first desposit again not massive stakes but more then what I used to punt at the bookies as I now had more money to play with due to earning more. This still wasn't much of a problem untill about 3 years ago i moved over to party casino as playing poker used to take hours to play with little return so I started playing the slots again but this time the stakes were high spending up to £20 on a single spin hoping to get a massive return. Spare cash I had would soon get eaten away as its so easy just numbers on a screen. I was blowing up to a £1000 a month on online slots this led to me lying to my wife and trying to cover up my losses one solution had was get loans to cover my losses. I ended up getting payday loans as they were quick and easy i'ld get a loan for £800 then i'd think i'll play £200 of it on online and chase my loses more often then not as you can imagine it never really worked. It didn't take long for it to get really out of hand all my wages covering the payday loans bills were getting unpaid i'd end up taking more payday loans out to again cover my losses and the circled continued on and on. Eventually things came to a head not long before christmas last year and I had to come clean to the wife about everything as you can guess she wasn't best impressed to say the least after much arguing and then finally discussion we came up with a plan. I got a debt management company to help with all the payday loans and handed my wife my bank cards and internet banking details so she should monitor my money. This was working well for the last 3 months with no gambling and to be honest I wasn't really missing it and it was good to see my bank balance slowly growing again. Until last week I was working away and needed to take my bank card with me to cover expenses I had about £1300 in my account. I stopped at a motorway service station for a break and cup of coffee whilst walking to the toilet I passed the slots area, thinking I have a little play £20 won't hurt next thing I know i've ploughed through the best part of £700 it didn't take long for the wife to find out. I felt gutted I only had access to my money for a few days and managed to blow it my marriage is on the brink of collapse from this recent event. So here I am sorry to waffle on.

I think the most of us find themselves in your story and don't get me wrong in saying you are still lucky mate you are not hopeless in debts like many others and you are still very young so your life can be still a really enjoyable one is just down to you mate you've done the right thing so far and a relapse isn't nice as we all know but it has a helpful aspect as well when you see it as a warning that it is always there to get you in a weak moment. You have a good lady and you have work to do to get her trust back what will take time but I have the feeling when she sees that you working on it every day, she will forgive you.
