Hello sowrong

There is help out there

You could give gamcare a ring and get some counselling or you could try something like GA?

I needed and still do need help with my addiction and have called help services many times including the Samaritans.

Not sure if I can say Samaritans but if not look up suicide help uk some options come up

Your wife would much rather you were here then six feet under mate.

I was in a similar position to you and got help from gamcare , people on here will support you in recovery but suicide is not the way , it is never too late to turn a corner and get your life back on track.

Have you spoken to anyone about this ?

Hi Sowrong,

Thanks for your post, and I'm glad you're reaching out here on the forum. Your life can absolutely be better than this, and much more peaceful, as long as you stop gambling and accept it as something that's not going to work out for you. Like John says above, it's never too late to turn your life around, and with the number of people that have done just that on this website, I really believe that you can too if you work at it.

What support have you gotten for your gambling problem? Have you tried Gamblers Anonymous? Have you tried any individual counselling? That's what tends to help gamblers the most if they're trying to quit, and can help you sort out underlying reasons for why you gamble, and help you with ways to manage your urges much more effectively than relying on willpower alone. We could point you in the direction for that if you're interested.

There's always a way forward, sowrong, and things can be much less stressful for you. Yes, it's going to take some work, but the payoff for abstinence and recovery will be tremendous. Please get in touch with us if you'd like to speak about any of this, and we'd be happy to chat with you. You can reach us from 8am to midnight every day on either the Helpline (0808 8020 133) or the Netline.

Hang in there, and remember, there's help out there for you.

Travis
