Hi everyone,
Like most, I'm new to this site and determined to change my life for the better. I'm 27 years old and ever since I was 18 I have gambled all of my monthly wages away. After being paid £1400 on Friday 24th April, today Monday 27th April I have £8 in my account, unable to get to work for the month and now have to rely on my partner. It took a lot of courage for me to come on here and equally for me to post, but a lot of other topics I have read this morning completely match what I am going through. I have to constantly lie about where my money is going each month, mostly I say work are sending me somewhere for the day and I have to buy my own transport. I also lie to say I have plans to do stuff or need to buy things just to get an extra bit of cash wherever I can to waste in the bookies. At 27 I still have most of my life ahead of me, I'm detirmined to put this right now. I did the online test this morning and found myself saying yes to every question. I am finally seeing how big of a problem I have and if it continues I'll end up losing everything. Thanks for reading. Steve
Well done Steve for taking first step and coming here to sort it .Start putting barriers in place like excluding/banning your self from gambling, confide in someone that can take control of your finances.
all the best in your recovery, keep posting
Hi Steve,
Can I ask what it is you gamble on ?
