Hi All I am here again with the same stroy losing money cutting card and keep on saying 2015 is going to be the year. 2014 has been better I think I may have lost up to 3k throughtout the year which is better than previous years but still too much. I have today cut up my debit card and when ever I have this card I end up gambling. This is the first change I have made. 2014 Jan I said I was not going to any casino and I achived this. I never went to the casion at all and this is very good for me. My challenge for this year is to stay out of the bookies but filling self exculsion is not the answer as I keep on going into differnt ones or the next town. Some on this forum said gambling is location, money and time. take one out and you will crack it. I have cut my card where my wages goes into I am changing my wages account to a book account and when I need money from the current account I will write a cheque.
Gambling has held me back and I need to stop completely
Hi kms,
Good job staying out of the casinos this year, must have been hard!
Good idea, making it harder to get to your money - I'm pretty sure they haven't stooped to the new low of allowing bank book withdrawals within the bookies but I'm wondering if self excluding from the ones close to where you bank may be of some help? I get what you are saying about exclusion alone as I just travelled further & further when I used this on it's own but this coupled with the difficulty you are making getting your money, it may just spare you the odd occasion when you find yourself in the bank!
You were strong in 2014 so I am sure you can do this now you have put your mind to it, best wishes for a gamble free 2015
